Exactly! I understood each one of the characters better in the novel. I also understood LR and PWX's love better in the novel and why they both are right for each other. I surprisingly understood SRQ's character too and didn't find him as pathetic as his character in the drama. Everything seemed much more interesting in the novel that the drama felt like a letdown even though they gave us a happy ending.

I'm hoping for a special episode too 😭 After reading the novel, I'm very disappointed with the drama. I would've rated this 8.5-9 and walked away if I didn't read the novel earlier. The novel set my standards high and the drama disappointed me

Mo Shu Bai's SRQ, LR, PWX, and literally every character was written way better than the drama. I loved the story, the characters, the ending, and how the villains were written. One of the best web novels I've read. The production literally ruined a masterpiece by inserting their own foolish ideas 😭 did they think the viewers' would have SML syndrome or something bc that character in the drama is pathetic. The production must've been high to take a masterpiece story and turn it into a mediocre drama. I feel bad for the actors bc they did an amazing job. I had high hopes for the drama until the very last ep. They added a few extra things to make SRQ and LR look like they're some star crossed lovers, separated by destiny. I'm disappointed.

This! I got a better understanding of each character after reading the full novel. The novel is obviously way better than the drama. The actors did an amazing job, it's the script. I feel let down

Ep 40 LR trying to go in the fire and save SRQ was not in the novel. In the novel, she calmly walked away with PWX and didn't look back. SRQ talking about his wishful thinking of wanting children with LR was not in the novel.

The director and scriptwriters are on crack. You literally have an amazingly written plot in the novel, how hard was it to copy-paste that in the drama?!!! I was frigging defending the drama until the last ep saying nah it's gonna follow the novel and be a really satisfying ending.

Sorry but where is LR and PWX's daughter, Li Xi, and their son, Pei Qingyun. You don't have to show their grown-up kids version but there wasn't even a baby? Ok, whatever but where is the grand wedding of the Princess Royal Pingyue and her Prime Minister Pei Wenxuan?!

This is not a mini drama for god's sake, they could've written a better ending even if they blindly followed the novel

7.5/10 for the Drama bc wth. I was so hopeful until the last episode but the ending was so underwhelming, unlike how it was in the novel 😭

First, he didn't die. Second, they don't get married again out of nowhere (that's in the epilogue after a good ending). Third, that's not what saves the drama lol 😂 I lowkey get your frustration but read the novel or wait until the next few eps

SPOILER: PWX stops her carriage immediately, and they talk everything out. She reveals the truth she heard and PWX tells the truth he knows. LR confronts LC and then LR gets more clearheaded. She starts making the best decisions which leads to the finale

she will come to her senses soon after a confrontation with LC. she's just broke down bc her own brother killed her which imo is totally valid. she will not plot against LC, she is just tired and frustrated. everything will hopefully be clear in the next two eps

a few scenes might've been cut but they didn't deviate from the storyline yet. the preview is following the novel too

I just finished the novel, and the author truly did an amazing job putting together such a story, giving a better, in fact, the happiest and most satisfying ending. I realized that this is one of the few stories you can't judge until you finish the whole novel, and suddenly everything comes together. To those who are upset with the recent episodes and previews, if the drama closely follows the novel (which it's doing so far), then you won't be disappointed. Please wait for a day or two and we might get express episodes. Rate the drama then. I went from loathing all the characters during the middle chapters yesterday to understanding all of them towards the end. For me, it's the best Chinese web novel I have read so far

After LR falls off the cliff with SRQ, she will confront him and get to know all the ugly truths about their first lives. PWX will confront LR, she'll tell him everything. PWX will tell her what he knows

Su family won't rebel and did not in the past life. They were framed by LC bc they're nobles, and SRH had an affair with SQY and gave birth to his son, Li Xin.

I got to the point in the novel where the upcoming episodes will be based, and I'm truly sick to my stomach. Everyone was so insufferable in their past lives. If I were in any of their positions, anyone, I'd just shut up, pack my bags, and leave. It was like reading a rotten, sick history, and you can't do anything about it. The fact that all of these events, except the rebirth, were totally possible in ancient times makes me dizzy. It's been a while since a chinese web novel has gotten me this traumatized. idk how the author got through writing these and still managed to give a happy ending for most of her main characters, props to her. I really appreciate her and this story but damn I need a break to take a few deep breaths. I loathe everyone in the story rn.
