The first episode is lit! I really like the setup - both the story and the characters. They showed Qiao’s grandfather and Qiao Man discussing their political situations, which highlights their close bond. Then, when Man Man decided to replace her cousin in the marriage alliance, just a simple nod from her to her grandfather shows the tacit understanding between them, which is way more effective than exposition. Oh, and at the end of episode 1, the way the ML looks at FL - he’s clearly taken aback by how she looks!

This drama’s so good, it makes all the other currently airing ones look lame. Now I can't find any other C dramas worth watching. 😆
