Blueberries

I’ve been skipping and fast-forwarding through a lot of episodes, watching this for LYN. It starts off pretty funny, but the FL’s treatment of the ML is just too harsh, even in the latest episode, despite the situation they're in, I don’t feel any emotional attachment from her towards the ML at all. I’m putting this drama on pause.

Well, I feel quite the opposite, I actually found FL to be adorable. TPOB is very enjoyable for me, it keeps me hooked from the start to finish. In fact, I’m re-watching this drama while waiting for the next episode of 'Created in China' to drop. I did check out the 1st episode of Feud, but it’s not my cup of tea. Still, glad you found something you’re enjoying!

I don't think romance is the main focus here. Here's a behind-the-scene clip of the leads (ZXC & SZE): https://www.douban.com/group/topic/328528546/?_spm_id=MTkzMjIzMw&_i=0303442c0D9nl3

Yes @ Kat Ski, it's on YouTube. I'm also in the US, here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzYjslRqm4M

I've looked into this before, and I believe it's set during the Warring States period in ancient China, a time period of intense and frequent warfare. Also, if you look at the map of the Warring States period on Wikipedia, it's similar to the one shown in the drama (Xiao Qiao and Wei Shao's map): https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/ca/EN-WarringStatesAll260BCE.jpg

Yes we both have that same animation. It's just too cute, I can't help it, lol. 😆

I believe it was just a dream. If it had been real, I think WS would have kissed her back, no way he'd be calmly sitting by the bed like nothing happened when he woke up! 😅

Fair enough. For me it's among the best, since I thrive for romance in a drama. I actually enjoyed the emotional ups and downs, even if some parts felt repetitive. The lighter, comedic moments gave it a nice balance imho. I do agree that Wei Yan stood out, Liu Duan Duan, the actor, brought a lot of depth and nuance to the role. I can see why it might not work for someone expecting a more politically driven plot, though.

This is what ML wrote: "True as strings tuned as one, not death nor time shall rend", he wrote about them. Here's a screenshot of what he wrote, someone posted it on tumblr: https://64.media.tumblr.com/8980e75da1c191f75848044653618a1e/d957a4df2f305c4b-ff/s1280x1920/f452fe6f92a4bb3c4a1295e14aff9743b880936b.png

Ahh, can’t believe I missed Wei Xiao jumping in there! He shot at XQ earlier, and WS blocked it with his sword. Guess it’s re-watch o’clock for me.

Thanks for confirming. Now I remember, I got the info from your comment. Appreciate you sharing it!

Totally understandable. But implying that those who rated it highly aren’t rational is unnecessarily dismissive.

I read a comment before that said it was cut from 40 episodes to 36 due to new rules imposed by the Chinese government.

I believe it's a ritual or ceremony for a bountiful harvest. And yes, their outfits are very similar to their wedding's, same colors (black and red) and a similar motif.

Totally agree with this. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, but there’s no need to throw shade at others just because the average rating doesn’t match your personal view.

Thanks ❤️

Here, I'll share my stress ball, it’s been through a lot 😅

Episode 32 is the best, so satisfying, I loved it! ❤️ Upon reading some comments here, now I'm scare to watch the remaining episodes

Same here, hope it goes up as more people rate it. Out of around 45K raters, 26.2% gave 1 or 2 stars.

The maid is just delulu!! Wei Yan had her styled like Man Man (Wei Shao even noticed it in an earlier episode). She probably noticed the hairstyle in the painting and thought it looked like hers.
