Loved his voice acting for Zeng Shunxi in 2 dramas! I was just rewatching Love the Way You Are and realized he also voice acted the ML in that drama, so I'm a fan now :)
I really wanted to watch this because I like society-savvy FLs like Ming Tan, but I can't stand the dubbing for her role :( I looked it up to be sure and I dropped Melody of Golden Age because of the same VA sadly. I know the VA is constantly hired to dub lead roles for good reason, but the tone of her voice when dubbing just doesn't work for me...
This is such a nice breezy watch! The director/screenwriter are doing a fabulous job with the story arcs and keeping the pace brisk. The actors were also cast perfectly for their roles and I'm excited to see how our side characters develop. I'm usually not up-to-date with currently airing shows but this one is such a joy to watch :)
All these commenters zeroing in on the female lead but I can’t stand the male lead and he has so much more screen time…just pushing through because commenters are saying he gets development. I just want him to get punched a few times in the first few episodes lol he needs some humbling
How did you manage to see 32 out of 32 episodes when only a quarter of the drama has aired? Just want anyone who is checking reviews to have that context.
This kind of drama is my guilty pleasure and there are better dramas about affairs, but I was grateful to discover Carmen Tong, who plays the mistress. She’s incredible with her emotions and her screen presence is really good. As toxic as the mistress character was, Carmen’s acting kept me watching 😌
This man is such a treasure! I watched Fu Yao and enjoyed the first arc so much when he was the main villain. Watching him now in Reset and he’s truly a master of immersion. Every character he plays is so differently interpreted. Love seeing him so booked!
I adore this season! Started off amazingly with eps 1-2 talking about childhood trauma (also PTSD) and blatantly calling out rape culture. The change up in format was also a great twist. I also loved episode 5 which simultaneously felt emotional and exhilarating with the amount of deductions.
While I loved the conclusion and how everything wrapped up nicely, the one critique I have is how they portray…
I completely agree! I think Sara in particular could have been portrayed with more humanity, just more than her being addicted and desperate for the next high. Maybe more focus on her art? Loved the drama overall and the actress was brilliant of course.
i really liked this dama 9.5 for me... i feel like the were a lot of storylines that weren't closed.ex so-hee…
I disagree, all of those plot lines had closure or were left on a hopeful note. Sohee was murdered while pregnant, so her fetus died with her. And for Hyun-nam, I think it's implied that Dong-eun is enlisting her for their next revenge master plan.
The other user gave the explanation for the choice of bullying victims, so I'll just add that it's clear Yeon-jin's mother raised her that way with a false sense of superiority. So she was enraged to see an ordinary girl like Sohee wearing clothes like her and being pursued by Jae-jun.
Is there any love triangle in this drama cz I fucking hate this type of relationships
No it’s just these two falling in love and developing their relationship as of ep 19! There may be some obstacles in the last few episodes but it’s way too late to add a third party and the pacing has been great so far. I never watch love triangle dramas anymore so I get it lol
Wow…I waited too long to watch this drama. This is a masterclass in scriptwriting, acting, and cinematography. If anyone else found some of the flashbacks a bit too much, just please hold on. Because the show is so tightly plotted, the payoff is so worth it. I wish there was a Season 2 just because I want more of this brilliance, but I am so pleased with the hopeful ending.
Except he said they were dating AFTER her 'agency' said she wasn't. Why would his agency #facepalm him like that?…
The one thing I didn’t see you mention is that we don’t know Park Bo Yeon feels about his decision. She may have discussed with her agency and decided to deny the rumors for now. I would hope Rocky received her permission before going public. Also, I think she has much more to lose as a rookie actress dating a younger kpop idol. I wish the best for them as well.
Rewatched this since I found it on Netflix and I am so amazed by the script and acting. Was so lovely to watch Sonia Sui acting her heart out showing the growth of a woman, An Zhen, learning to put herself first while still giving her daughter the life she deserved. She didn’t wake up one day as a badass, and she made mistakes or regressed a little bit along the way. Shout out to Ai Lin (and the super charismatic actress!), the archetypical powerful woman, for learning to not scorn a housewife and respect other women’s ways of living. She really grew with An Zhen and their friendship was probably my favorite relationship in the show. The development was so good! - they went from squabbling over a man and scorning each other to Ai Lin getting violent while supporting An Zhen. An Zhen really helped Ai Lin to open up her heart too ❤️
I was also pleasantly surprised by how empathic several characters ended up being with the young mistress character, Wei En. Yes, she was awful and made many shitty choices but there was some deep-rooted issues she needed to recognize and address before ending up in a relationship. I think Rui Fan’s motives for entering the relationship could have been explored more, but I was theorizing that he wanted someone who desperately needed him. An Zhen was perfect and Wei En was a project that he could invest in. Or he was experiencing an early midlife crisis lol
The ending was the perfect way to wrap up the series! Definitely one of the best takes on this type of drama that I’ve seen - and I love this trope of cheating and then character growth so I’ve seen a lot haha 😆
