What happened to my favorite drama of 2023?! I’m on episode 29 and already it feels like I’m watching something different. I started to get a bad feeling somewhere around episode 20 and so I checked comments on the ending. This is one time when I’m happy for spoilers. I won’t finish this.😞
Thank you! This editorial was so clever and creative. I love your format. I guess I really am an “armchair traveler,” since I’ve seen 4 of the six dramas listed. (And I have added the other two to my PtW list.)
Thank you for your work. This was so much fun, and it’s great to see another editorial. I definitely agree about the character Lee Kang Hoon in Noble My Love and I would also add Cha Jin Wook in My Secret Romance, even though I love Sung Hoon as an actor. The way his character bullied the FL in My Secret Romance really bothered me. I’m not a fan of the trope “I’m being mean to you for your own good.” Now let me say that his character in Perfect Marriage Revenge is a walking green flag always supporting his girl-Approved!
Female friendship is one of my favorite drama themes, and I love a good female ensemble drama. It's that combo…
I’m with you. I’m so tired of catty women, love triangles and scheming ex girlfriends.Ugh. I prefer women who remain friends and support each other through all their ups and downs. These characters are deeper and much more interesting. Some of my favorites: Alliance, Remembrance of Things Past and Delicious Romance.
Thank you so much ❤️✨Yes, do check the recommendations and tell us what you think!Same, I used to get distressed…
I have added some of your recommendations to my PTW list. I plan to start with 0.5 no Otoko since I enjoyed Matsuda Ryuhei in Omameda Towako to Sannin no Matootto and Quartet. Also, your editorial was so well done and represents the high quality of editorials that drew me to this site in the first place. It has generated a lot of interesting comments which I have enjoyed as well. I hope MDL’s admin takes note of the fact that your editorial currently has more likes than anything else on the main page.
Thank you for your editorial, I enjoyed it and appreciate your hard work. I will definitely check out some of your recommendations. In my early days of drama watching I would feel bad if I didn’t like a drama as much as the crowd and would force myself to finish dramas even if they disappointed me. Now I am more selective and probably drop as many dramas as I finish. I have become very wary of hype, especially dramas with high traffic actors and storylines tailored to their fandom. My “Completed” list only contains my top rated dramas and not all the dramas I’ve watched-and yes, I dropped Love 020 too.
so truenow i want something similar and i have to wait and search till i find one lol
A different storyline as you can tell from the synopsis, but it’s 3 working women and 3 different romances. I recommend it if you want something mature and meaningful that skips all the usual tropes and cliches.
So true! I was really looking forward to this drama. It had a promising start, but I forced myself to finish it. It’s not a good sign when a short length series feels like 40 episodes. I kept hoping it would get better, but the end was a big letdown. Throughout the drama we’re told about the incomparable love between the two leads, so where’s the reunion scene at the end? It seemed like there were too many missing scenes for key plot points, leaving the audience to fill in the blanks.
Thank you :) and I‘ll definitely rewatch it… probably sooner than later 😅 I forgot to mention the OST but…
Thanks for the names of the songs! I was having trouble finding the soundtrack and just located it on ITunes. Do you know who sings Cloud 99? I’m adding the soundtrack to my library.
I loved your review and I agree completely. This is such a rare gem, and the best drama I’ve seen in a long time. The dialogue, the characterizations, the storylines, the acting, the soundtrack-I could go on and on. This director really knows how to frame and tell a story. That scene on the bridge was heartbreaking and so beautifully filmed. I will add this to my rewatch list along with ROTP (another favorite.) Thanks for the great review.
I feel like I do nothing but complain about the state of rom coms these days. Some are watchable but this one…
I seem to drop more dramas than I finish, but this one I will probably rewatch someday. There are so many great moments in this drama, but that scene on the bridge between Xin Zi and Jia Bai was just beyond my expectations. Such great work by those young actors. And setting the scene on a bridge when it’s clear there is no bridge to save their relationship-just so smart and not something you see in today’s cookie cutter dramas.

I agree. It’s the best thing I’ve seen in a long time. This is the same director as Remembrance of Things Past, another one of my favorites. Everything in this drama clicks: the story, the acting, the cinematography and of course the amazing soundtrack that captures the mood of the scenes.
