Nubsib and Gene are childhood friends, but Gene being the older one forgot about Sib since Sib was really just…
According to the novel. They are friends. Actually as I remember one of the reasons that Gene didn't recognize Sib was because Sib is actually using his mother's maiden name when he's acting so that he won't get his family involved. Also they haven't seen each other for years too. Which maybe another reason that Gene forgot Sib. Sib came back to Thailand about a year before these events unfolded and Gene's mother said in the trailer for Ep 6 that Gene had not been home for a long time so it's possible that they missed meeting each other too.

As the confusion of aunt, even in my country we call random strangers also Aunt XD Lol. I know it's confusing but it's common in many Asian countries. And the pictures of friends in the living room thing, even I have of really close family friends. I hope that's not weird XD

Yes. That's the biggest plot-hole I saw in this as I wrote in the comment above XD
Guess Phupha is "really strong" LOL
On Manner of Death Mar 29, 2021
Currently at Episode 12 and although I love it, I feel like there's something really lacking. Maybe it was because I read the novel before the show and completely loved it. Here are some issues I found.

1. Dr. Bun
He was such a complex character in the book. He wasn't a wishy-washy character as they've portrayed in the story but a person you can see as someone truly intelligent. For starters he was very cunning while he was with Tan. He never fell head first in love but actually calculated each move of his. He always worked for his benefit. Unfortunately in the adaption they washed him up to I-am-so-in-love-with-Tan-I-will-give-my-life-for-him character and personally for me it was sad degradation of his character.
2. Maybe I am misinformed as I am not a part of neither the police nor medicine but I felt everything was slightly mishandled in an unprofessional manner? The people were allowed to listen to victim statements and the police was easily letting evidence go. In a certain aspect I know manipulation is normal in countries like Thailand and my own. And the technology would not be as advanced in them as the European fields but is everyone just allowed to do what they like? For an instance when Inspector M went to arrest Rung, why was Bun and Tan allowed to accompany him too?
3. Let me get this out first. I love MaxTul. I really do but man..... their acting was subpar here. Especially Tul. I felt he was over-exaggerating some of his emotions. I outright cringed at certain points. Max was better but the only people who actually acted natural were Great, MD, Mint, Meiko and Foei. Actually Foei was a pleasant surprise cuz I always found him funny in real life.
4. The romance. WAS CRINGEY. I know the hot scenes were pretty out there and good but directing felt off at those points. And even the editing was all over the place at times. Which is a pity cuz they have a solid foundation for this story and I felt they let it go wayward.

Now that I have ranted I'll conclude this with my overall opinion. Yes it's too soon to do so considering I have two more episodes but I'm gonna do anyways. LOL. As much as I ranted above I can say this proceeds my list of other BLs such as Tonhon Chonlathee and even the En series (yes. I'm sorry I only liked Love Mechanics. The other two were complete messes and highly overrated). Rather than calling this a BL, I would call it a Mystery Thriller with the romance aspect having a BL tag. As far as mystery thrillers goes, this is a solid hit. As a super fan of the novel I think I was frustrated that it lost its charm somewhere along but that does not mean I hated it. I will definitely be rating this about 8.0 stars.

Another thing I noticed. Most of the BLs that are getting more interest and actually doing better are cinematographically beautiful series that are generally shot outside of Bangkok. I mean we'll be getting KinnPorsche in the city and even the new ITSAY in the city but I can say they are all standing out as they production companies are not holding back from production budgets. Just my silly thoughts.

The comment section is surely a mess. LOL.
Let's start with the most important part guys.

1. This is an adaptation. Meaning they are following a story already written. Yes they have made few changes here and there (some for the better, some for the worse) but they are still following the novel. If they deviated too much, the novel fans will truly be up their asses.
2. I read a truly interesting comment down there about the ages of the viewers and how they interpret the actions. I think not only age but cultural upbringing affects this. And I truly agree with that comment. The way people looked at the decisions that Phupha took was completely interpreted differently of people of different age limits. For example I'm over 25 years and I felt that there was logic behind Phupha's actions. If I was in his place I would think the same way. Also a part of me felt Tian's anger. Tian was impulsive to start with. His anger felt a little off-place but the poor boy has been holding on so much. But after a while he did take the 'correct actions' of talking to Phupha. Now let's think back to our own selves. Don't we, at moment of anger take harsh decisions? Without thinking of the consequences? And then few days later after we stew over it and think rationally don't we regret our decisions too? That's just the human in us.
3. Tian being responsible and needing lawful punishment for Torfun's death. This is somewhat really questionable but it was wonderfully explained by @dllmzca down in the comments. Yes Tian did organize the illegal racing and yes he stubbornly persisted even when Tul showed concern. Tul showed concern for Tian's condition. Not the race itself. Thus Tian did give his car to the other friend. Now for the logical side of it. As I mentioned this part was completely explained by @dllmzca not me so all credits for him. Torfun jumped in the middle of the road of a very high traffic area. Even if it was taken to courts there will be lawful problems to indict him of that charge.
4. In terms of the script being weak for me the biggest plot hole I saw in episode 9 was the driving scene. Lol. How did Phupha drive with his hand in a sling? That truck was clearly a manual gear one. Also in the novel Phupha stayed longer in the hospital than Tian cuz he was shot and he needed to be observed more.
5. The angst. Each drama won't be everyone's cup of tea. This is not usual cherry blossom BL. This is slightly mature. We are not considering teenagers in love (Well some dramas like ITSAY did portray that accurately too) but adults. With their futures on line. Obviously all decisions would not be to everyone's taste. So far 90% of BLs are more fan-service than realistic and this is one of the few that deviates from it. So yeah it won't be for everyone.

In conclusion, I think this is a well-written yet different drama. And I won't criticize those who find it as pleasing as most of us do because all of us would have different opinions with regards to our tastes and this is just my two cents on everything. There will be faults here and there but if we do compare this with the many BLs out there I think it's obvious that ATOTS is among one of the best Thailand has produced.

I saw their trailer. I am not ready to watch this. I always wonder though. Doesn't Perth and Talay have more fans than Yoon and Talay. Why are the latter always paired up and not the former? Is it because Perth has a busier schedule?

Unpopular Opinion coming through.

Ok when compared to the rest of the History series this is really the best in the whole set but am I the only one who thought that Unit 3 has to be one of the worst police unit I've ever seen?
There were few cringe scenes that really did make me look away too. Maybe it's because in 2020/2021 some really good BLs that put up the standard have come and that makes stories like this just average.

You wanna know how to identify a good series? It’s when the viewers judge the episodes in respect to other episodes…
I agree that this is definitely top-tier when it comes to BL of any form. They have chosen to move away from the usual BL cliché points. Something that I have noticed is among the more famous ones ATOTS, ITSAY, Manner of Death has become some of the favorite with the BL fans and we can say that in a way that is because they were willing to go away from the general type-cast that the BL directors have put themselves in.
As much as I love 1000 stars with all my heart. ITSAY is also on the top. In terms of character development it hits the nail on the coffin. This is a personal opinion of mine and if you haven't watched I would highly recommend it to you. The first season of it aired last year and the second season will air in May.

so I'm seeing mixed reviews about the show ...should I watch it or not bc when it comes to BLS I do have high…
I would definitely recommend it. Like one of the previous comments mentioned, I can't talk in terms of LGBTQ+ romance as I am not of that community but as a story in general it is beautiful story. Definitely one of the better dramas that GMM TV has produced. For me personally hands down this is the best of GMM TV and when considering all Thai/Asian BLs it is only surpassed by ITSAY for me.
Replying to earthmixxitup Mar 25, 2021
yeah exactly! i think that usually in bls, we don't get any personality arcs of any character ever. they just…
I totally agree with you. It's unfortunate that Phupha's character did fall for that trap but with 2 episodes left I hope we are given somewhat an insight. I agree it is quite hard to do so within just 10 episodes too but here we have to see that the story is more of Tian's journey rather than others too.

On A Tale of Thousand Stars Mar 24, 2021
The amount of debate for the last episode is truly astounding. It's nice people are putting more thoughts to the story rather than just following it.
For me personally this is still in the top of my LGBTQ+ shows but with ITSAY on the top still (it was much more realistic in the coming out part but then again it was dealing with teenagers while here we have mature adults. It was also very detailed). I agree and disagree with the comments. Some comments do have a logical backing to them some don't. Recently I read the objectifying of Earth's character for 'sexy person' and I whole heartedly agree with that. Phupha has more space to grow as a character and I feel like they've only fleshed out Tian's character. Yes I agree he's the main character but Phupha too should have some development. By this I don't mean development in the sense of positive manner where the fans are left pleased but real development, either it be positive or negative. The last episode feels like a good foundation for that and I am going to give the benefit of the doubt and wait till the last episode to further elaborate on that. Going back to the 'sexy' persona debate, part of it was for commercialization or marketing of the sponsors. In that sense I get it. They need to look at that side also but I hope it doesn't continue as a cheap trick.
Lastly I see many commenting on other aspects of the story too. (not from last week) and for that I only have to say is cultural differences. Many arguments were brought before due to that and also on people's ignorance when it came to that. I'm not criticizing anyone but as an Asian myself sometimes I feel doubt when I see arguments. Being exposed to the Western ideologies some arguments do make sense but coming from a heavy Asian background I can see why that certain event occurred in the story. I know all of us wants to have a clear cut perfect story but there are many factors that affect each person's lifestyles. It's best to watch this while keeping that in mind. We are still in the process of evolving and maturing.
