There are 32 Episodes, and I need to suffer 14 Episodes to let the magic begin?

As a huge fan of the dense and deep storytelling in Story of Yanxi Palace and The Double, I had incredibly high hopes for this drama. I pushed through the first few episodes, hoping the story and characters would eventually develop.I have now reached Episode 6, and my hope is fading fast. This drama is extremely overdone in many places. The music is simply too loud and blows every single opportunity out of proportion with high drama—often way too dramatic for the actual scene, in my taste.The plot tries to tell too much at once, which severely sacrifices depth. The characters remain flat, sometimes so stereotypical and cliché that it just gets boring.I am giving this exactly 2 more episodes. If nothing changes by then, I am moving on. My life is too short to waste on this.

I am only on episode 1, but this drama already feels like something special. The costumes, makeup, and coloring look incredibly high-quality, giving it a very cinematic feel. The story starts at a very deliberate and measured pace

Did this drama change the world? Of course not. Nonetheless, I don’t regret a single minute I spent with this story. I laughed a lot and felt thoroughly entertained. The dialogues were somehow effortless and felt like real life. Will the actors receive awards for their performances? Probably not, which is a shame, because the interactions were very natural, the emotions were truly believable, and the comedy felt like it was straight out of real life. You couldn't ask for a better way for characters to handle conflicts. So, if you’re looking to spend a few entertaining hours with relatable characters and some good laughs, you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for in this drama.

I cannot quite understand the extent of criticism levelled at this drama. I find ML in particular to be very mature and confident, in the sense that he is able to regulate his own emotions. The decision not to involve their son in the family disputes, to leave him in his familiar surroundings with his caregivers for the time being and to provide him with stability is what any family court would order. Because it prioritises the needs of the child. Revenge may sometimes be sweet, but in this case it is impossible to achieve justice for all involved without causing further harm.

Love it, I am hoping for the transparent umbrella to keep its promises.

In my opinion, a good drama about the need for connection and the consequences of stress, trauma, loss and grief.

I just rewatched it for the fourth time. Every time I watch it again, I like it even more.

I highly recommend the Chinese Drama Story of Yanxy palace!

It's about pride, prejudice, selfishness, misjudgment, loyalty, betrayal. I wouldn't call it miscommunication.

The first two episodes got off to a brilliant start. In particular, I find it interesting to follow the power struggles between the different women, which are also portrayed in a more differentiated way than usual. So far, there is little black and white but lots of shades of gray. No one is only good or only bad here, but everyone is fighting to assert their interests to the point where it's a matter of survival. Love it so far!

I really liked this drama. The acting performances of the cast were above average. I was particularly impressed by Feng Shao Feng in the role of the husband who is misguided in every respect.

I watched the drama until episode 21 and then made the mistake of reading a spoiler. I hate sad or open endings so I don't want to continue watching at the moment. Until then I really liked the drama. But I want to watch dramas that make me happy, there are enough tragedies in real life.

I have a strong desire for a second season!

Something in the rain, One Springnight and Because this is my first life are some of my favourite dramas so I was really looking forward to watching love next door. But I'm finding it hard to connect with this story. I find the main characters and their families absolutely annoying. Do the MLs have any social skills at all, like emotional intelligence, ability to communicate? If I met one of these people in real life, my reaction would be to run away, I don't want to surround myself with people who make you constantly guess what's going on inside them. Just seeing this drama makes me want to avoid these people. That's exactly what I'm doing now.

It was a long and largely boring journey with this drama. But now I've made it. The best thing about the drama is the music, which I really like. The love between the ML's wasn't even lukewarm. No idea how love is supposed to overcome death in these temperatures. The lead actress didn't reach me with her performance. I have no desire to see her again. I would give the male lead another chance in another drama in the hope that another counterpart can warm him up.
