Am I the only one who finished watching this drama without even knowing it was adapted from a famous BL novel?😂…
I didn't know either. When it was still airing, one my Chinese online ESL students told me I had to watch it. She was really enjoying it. I had very little experience with this genre at that time. It is the reason I have a xianxia and wuxia addictions.
I started watching on a Monday morning. By Tuesday night, I finished half of ep 29. Granted it was New Year's and the day after, but I wouldn't watch that many eps of a drama that didn't have my full attention in that short amount of time.
Perhaps it's because it's a very unfamiliar hairstyle that takes time to get used to.
Whenever I see the Manchu men's hairstyles, I think about the amount of effort to maintain it. It must be nearly daily. In The Long River, we see the ML's hair when it grows out because he didn't maintain it for a short time.
Binged it in 2 days. Yes, I did got distracted and perused the internet in other browser tabs on other screens while watching eps 11-15. Overall, I enjoyed watching it.
Wow! Around ep 33, it appears that he hacked her phone and read messages between FL and Shan Shan while they were texting. She said that it wasn't her problem that prevented something from happening. Next thing we see is him getting very serious and walking towards the bedroom. He wanted to prove that there weren't ANY problems. XD
I completely agree. The hate for Shuyi and the drama itself is atrocious. To me it was a completely enjoyable…
Perhaps I'm crazy in their eyes, but I binge watched 27 eps in 2 days. The only thing I really wanted to do is hit the phones with a hammer a few times. XD
I did not like the ending of this drama. Ya Long waited for centuries to be with the FL and when they finally…
The whole "made from my rib" part made the rest seem almost like a spin off of the Adam and Eve story. It's just too bad that the way to the "perfect" ending for the guys is for her not to exist.
