I finished two days ago on my sec full rewatch I’m feeling MT!
Moping and thinking again and again I’ll just rewatch again🙃 I’ve come to understand the characters but still upset there was not wedding ceremony and their kids together and special eps for their life after marriage😭 they should do that for all loyal fans just like how Someday or One day had a short special ep and now a movie for it. And how TROTAR will have s2 and how untamed had movies for the side characters😭😭

Cheng Shaoshang was just 15 she just arrived into the palace. Her whole life she’s only met two types of ppl, those who were nice to her and those that weren’t and she very much wanted a mother figure without knowing herself since before going into the palace she experienced the pain of her mother’s bias-ness and neglect. If u watched the sec half of ep 4 and try to empathize from Shaoshang’s pov u will definitely understand. Her mother praised YangYang the daughter of Madam Ge treated her more tenderly and felt sorry for YangYang than she did to Shaoshang since first meeting, she was shunning Shaoshang for being raised by Madam Ge one way or another unintentionally or not . the first thing her mother did to SS was disliking her for her shrewdness than beat her, scold her and told her to starve for it and also if she did not finish her study when since young she’s been starved by Madam Ge and her grandmother. When she arrived to the palace the Empress was a mother who was very caring for her children. She worried the empress would be sad if smthg happens to the crown prince and it would also implicate the empress so she did what she thought was right. She was ready to accept anything that would come at her if something went wrong. LBY just know that and helped her out of his own will and understanding of her. SS didn’t ask for it he did it voluntarily bc he loves her and understood her. So there was nothing for him to be mad at.

Cheng Shaoshang still was too immaturely and didn’t kno much abt the palace matter and how the world works even bc till 15 her world was being oppressed by her grandma and Madam Gu

I always rewatch here’s and there but this most recent time I watch 3-5 eps a day only getting 2-3 hrs of sleep. I still cried and laughted a lot. I understood some scenes more emotionally and also found some editing errors and still thinking the Eng translating could’ve been much better😗 and now I’ll move on to pt2 page for my further comment

I really recommend this drama for ppl who r feeling sad , lonely, 😐 or mt. Or just wants to watching something heartwarming and funny to life the mood this is definitely the 1st choice.

The drama aired when the MLs where 18 and 19 there would be at least 1 yr gap for the drama to air and film so they were at most 17 and 18 still teens it makes sense they wasn’t Eng kissing scenes and stuff. Also the drama was to be aired on TV at that time to promoted internationally i even saw Li Kaixin(Eleanor) post on her ig at the time thanking YoYo Eng Channel for translating and posting on yt.

This drama is so special for me it’s been 5 yrs but I still rewatch from time to time and listen to OST. Only this drama and LLTGT have this affect one me. This drama is too underrated and the main reason is bc there’s no romance? There is romance just not the typical sexual scenes included it’s a romance between two teen kids w the males lead(who is a mature and responsible teen) caring for the female lead in his own way(where the female lead likes to childlike she actually has a very sad back story). This is an absolute hidden gem. Also a very decent drama the setting is when MLs are in highschool with friends and romance is not the only thing the production have in mind it’s the friendships, the innocent youth, the sad past some kids can have they have it all. Only need S3 and maybe even S4 and s5 to show them struggle for Gaokao, university and finally stepping into the world for real finding jobs, growing up and romance between MLs and other friends. They can even get married and have kids finally. A long detail story that has all just like the very first ep’s intro. 🥺🥹🥹

Cheng Yi is one of the few Chinese male actors that I really like and respect for his ability too. Also bc heseems funny in real life(I watched some behind the scenes and his tripping compilation, they popped up by themselves I didn’t search it fyi). Not just Chengyi I like Zhang Yuxi too. But what does that have to do w this? It’s was just my speculation abt why this drama hasn’t
aired yet🤯. Stops being a Karen. I don’t kno why that pretty name is even used to describe ppl like this😶

Beside did I say it’s set in Myanmar?I said some scenes were filmed in Kachin u can search it on maps it’s in Myanmar and the Border between China and Myanmar is there.
