I think this is where it gets interesting because in the first episode, we know that LQ’s mom is related to the Weapons book and she’s a talented inventor. We also know that the Empress Dowager acquired the book for the former Emperor. The pieces are slowly coming together and it’s looking more like the target of the attack was the book/LQ’s mother and the Li clan was collateral damage. Makes me wonder if it was another political power struggle and JBN’s family was caught in the middle of it, thus the pendant clue.

Yes…that character is beyond redemption. Hope they don’t follow the novel for her and Li Lin like someone said earlier. She deserves real punishment.

Yeah…agency deals. Read that was how some secondary roles get a lot of screen time. I think in the Pillow Book, the secondary female character had purchased the rights to the story (originally to be lead) but couldn’t produce it and in Legend of Fei, a newbie was being pushed so they got her a lot of screen time.

Does she have like some kind of hook-up so they had to give her screen time? I heard that was why one of the female characters got so much screen time in Eternal Love of Dreams: Pillow Book and Legend of Fei. The character is not just annoying anymore but straight creepy with her schemes.

I had been wondering how the connection would be and I keep going back to LQ’s biological mom and the book. I don’t think it was the Li family per se, but his mother and the book that was the target. It’s his mother that made the gadgets like the fish in the first episode and the mini shooting thing that JBN fixed after their wedding. They haven’t fully gone into the background of LQ’s mother yet. Weapons and those who know how to make them are coveted. Just guessing for now based on the little clues so far.

It’s probably related but like you said, it will be a short misunderstanding. I have this feeling it has something to do with the Empress Dowager, ZBN’s aunt. She’s the one that got the Book of Weapons for the previous Emperor and LQ’s originally thought there was something it could help give a clue to his mother’s death. Back then, the Jiang’s were close to the former Emperor being in-laws. Maybe the Empress Dowager’s people did it for the book and the Jiang’s were there to try to stop it?? Hoping it’s something like that so the misunderstanding doesn’t last long.

Agree…I also think Li Lin is low key jealous of LQ cause you see hints that he cares about Gao and basically do illegal stuff for her. She was playing his ego by hinting that he’s being mistreated as the eldest compared to LQ.

LQ always has his own mind when it comes to his personal business. The trailer on Tencent titled “Being Together: Ju JingYi & Joseph Zeng’s Mutual Love and Trust to the End” basically spells it out. It’s my favorite trailer.
