His line about “looking back at the end of life for the conclusion” is more in reference to a love that grows old together with a satisfied love and happy life. Ji Xing was young and thought true love meant a love where one was able to sacrifice their life for the other, an all consuming love and it’s either there or not, but for HT, love isn’t something that just happens but something that has to grow slowly with time. Also, due to his obligations, love doesn’t come first to him.

Happy ending. Epilogues go into their married life.

She actually let go of XCS when XCS chose TXM in ep27. Her burning the picture was her act of letting go. She just finally voiced it to YGH in ep38.

She wrote to XCS/TXM. She’s still considered a friend to XCS/TXM and there’s always been trust between XCS/TXM. HHL also let go of XCS after the ice rink incident where XCS chose TXM.

Everything wrapped up nicely where the bad guys got punished and our wayward pair YGH/HHL got closure. Love the XCS/TXM/XBB family scenes and happy ending. Thanks for the great discussion!

This drama is really full of life lessons that make you think and evaluate. One of the best executed so far that I’ve seen.

Ep23 was the 1981 dinner where CHJ passed the Customs job interview. Then years later after the recovery and XCS had already been working in the anti-smuggling office for a while, the New Years dinner occurred. So then maybe it’s like a 15 year gap between the XCS and YGH seeing each other and 10 year gap for CHJ since he was at the wedding.

I just know the end of ep23 is 1981 and in ep 34 it’s 2001 when they meet for business…20 years total time span.

Ooh…in ep 35 at LSY’s fishing lake, is that CHJ’s mistress and kid? So is LSY the one that had been hiding CHJ’s other family for him? Someone please that that pos LSY down. CHJ too.

LSY basically toys with Heizi, CHJ, and YGH….sicko.

That’s what he seriously was…dumb and in love. By the time the baby thing happened he probably just didn’t want to bother or he still had hope. His sister did say he wasn’t a bright one. Plus divorce isn’t good in business circles at those times. It more common now but divorce is costly…probably also thinking why not just make her miserable since he’s miserable…two peas in a pod. That’s them.

Heizi knew where his ex-wife was. He was going to run away to see her in Hong Kong. He’s jus an ungrateful jerk who doesn’t cherish his brothers that have been true o him and had given him multiple chances. Prison never teaches him a lesson.

That’s the problem with YGH and HHL, they live in what if’s while TXM and XCS live in the present with their choices. Awesome drama and ready but not ready for it to end. Jus want a HE for our two leads too.

YGH can be saved but CHJ is too far gone. It’s like what LSY said…money is awesome because it can make a quiet guy like CHJ show his true colors.

Even the pictures that each of the couples display in their homes and their offices are telling of their state of mind. XCS/TXM have pictures from their wedding and their family while YGH/HHL have pictures from their military days. Didn’t’ t really see much pictures of CHJ/YF except on their marriage certificate. Maybe CHJ had pictures at the large house with his mistress/child cause there wasn’t much at the flat he shared with YF.
