XCS lives in a villa while YGH lives in a mansion. I didn’t see if XCS’s sister also lived in a villa or if they’re in a flat. Even Heizi’s flat looked modern. I remember the early 2000s and that’s how the houses of the wealthier neighborhoods were in California. The extremely extravagant ones were even more crazy and those belonged to celebrities and ultra rich tycoons (some multigenerational).

Yeap…that’s their generation and BeiBei is fuerdai. Luckily she has TXM/XCS as parents to keep her grounded as they may be rich but they live comfortable verses over the top extravagance.

Difference between QT and YGH is his family background and what he could offer. QT didn’t have what she was seeking which was a chance for a better lifestyle. YGH and XCS (even though XCS’s father was on a bad list) had the right backgrounds. QT had resources but not really. It’s why it was very flattering for her to get the attention of 2 men from the military compound since at that time, those that lived in the military compound with military connections were at the top of the social ladder and had better lives.
YGH was very aware of his privileges and probably arrogantly thought it would be different for him since HHL was giving him attention and understanding. She was giving him attention even when she was dating XCS.

Heizi is about money and his own survival no matter who he hurts. He lost a bunch of money and was about to go bankrupt but instead of asking his bros for help, he back stabs them for the money. He probably also thought they wouldn’t press charges cause they’re bros so he took his time running after committing the crime. Heizi has no true loyalties when his back is to the wall. He kept talking about kissing up to CHJ cause of CHJ’s position and essentially did what he did before when XCS wouldn’t help him get his illegal goods released all those years ago. Heizi just can’t leave the illegal stuff behind him when he’s tempted with money. What also got to me was that conversation he had with QT as if he wanted QT to go against XCS…I was like, um, XCS is the reason that company exists and you have a good position that you’re not even qualified for. Ungrateful jerk.

That last episode said it all when he wen to Chunxiao’s factory. The entire 10 years, he was competing one-sided with XCS while XCS didn’t even think of him in that sense at all. When they broke off contact with XCS, XCS moved on with his life, loving his TXM and building a family and career. That’s the difference between XCS/TXM and YGH/HHL. XCS/TXM moved on while the other couple dwelled in the past with every decision thy make in their own world of one sided competition.

Those rules went out the window as China opened up and businesses started booming and millionaires, soon billionaires were created. The state got their portion and the restrictions of the cultural revelation was in the past. The current second gen rich “Fu Er Dai” came from YGH and XCS’s generation and now some of their grandkids have even more privileges.

He was just like the other guys initially, thought his love was enough and given time, his sincere love and care would win her over especially when XCS left.

It’s not just the money from Li but the fact that he’s a secret partner in Huashang, YGH’s company. He pocketed from both Li and YGH. As a high ranking Customs official he wasn’t supposed to have any business interests so his name isn’t on any official papers which means if anything goes wrong YGH is left holding the bag. He’s such an ungrateful a**. Can’t wait to see him go down.

YF is smart and she saw it all coming and got out in time but YGH fell for it all.

That’s XCS’s loyalty to his bros though. He’ll help him out not with money but with the equipment. Even though he helps him out, unless a miracle happens where he turns in CHJ and scumbag Li, he’s going to lose the business. He owes compensation to the buyers and owes Li money for the product. They have to take Li and CHJ down which may also put YGH in legal trouble since the business was built partly on CHJ’s corruption. Does China give immunity to whistle blowers for cooperation to bring corrupt officials down?

Yeah…the guys are more dramatic. They said it was XZ’s idea. Then I think the girls did it after cause of the guys. 🤣

LSY, Heizi, and CHJ needs to go to the gallows. YGH let his emotions get the best of him and is now going to pay the price for it. XCS is too loyal to friends who have no loyalty.

I don’t think it’s actually just about XCS anymore. It’s about herself and all her regrets. The skates were of a simpler time for her where she was the center of attention due to her face and music talent. But now, she doesn’t have a happy family due to her choices. That whole foursome, YF/CHJ and YGH/HHL have no communication and built walls of regret with each choice they made so they threw in XCS as a convenient excuse since he was their one link. The first reunion dinner (New Year’s) 10 years prior was regret for not choosing XCS. Her eyes were mostly on him at that time. This time, it’s regret for not caring more for the pregnancy/miscarriage because she could have had a child who would have been just a little older than BeiBei cause her eyes were mostly on BeiBei. Since YF doesn’t have any children and it doesn’t seem like she socializes, that may be one of the few times that she sees children from their group of friends. It’s also another reminder of what could have been at any one of her choices. What could have been with XCS if she went to the train station, what could have been with YGH if she cared more for her pregnancy. I think that’s why in their car fight she said YGH misunderstood her. Unlike the New Years dinner and ice rink thing, she didn’t seem to have a malicious intent this time around. There’s a scene in the opening credits where YGH and HHL are holding each other crying (it’s superimposed with the burning drawing) so I think they will finally open up to each other after the whole business bomb and XCS saves him.

So far in Road Home and Here We Meet Again, they were able to modify the XXX into hot scenes appropriate for C censorship. Let’s see what they do with this one.

Yes, please stay away from him too…Lol…that boy doesn’t ever see them but somehow both YGH and CHJ turned him into an imaginary 3rd party in their marriages.

You could see it in YGH’s face and reaction when he confronted HHL about the pregnancy. After that was when he became indifferent too and threw himself into work more to prove he was the better “choice”.

Yeap…and they need to just stay away from BeiBei and TXM.

I don’t even think it’s love anymore but an obsession of a simpler time where she was center of attention. Her and YGH’s problem is themselves and was never XCS and his family. They could never let go of the past because one or the other will dwell on the different bad choices they made: choosing the wrong partner, loosing the baby, career, etc. They just dwell in one regret after another, unable to really move forward in a healthy way.

That thought crossed my mind too that she may be doing it because of nostalgia and to get at YGH.

It didn’t matter to her that TXM was present at the ice rink either. I wonder if someone will be straightforward with her this time. I remember last time everyone was like WTF is this lady doing. Waiting to see QT and company’s reaction…YF please say something.
