100% agree with your assessment. Yes the mother was more tamed in the book, of course for tv purposes and to keep us entertained she is definitely Extra in the drama. This hatred we feel shows how well she played her role.

They are not interested in teaching her etiquette cause they want her to marry a non noble. Plus at this point does it matter. She is going to get the best training there is directly from the queen and her aides.

She is not resentful because in episode 4 she said she is not going to care for the people who do not accept her, so she can live a quiet life. Also, she grew up alone so she doesn't know the difference of being loved by her parents and is independent which is the reason why she just wants to get married and leave that house. Im her mind the best partner for her was LY because they worked well together and were friends who liked and accepted each other. Now with LBY, she is going to live in the palace to train and later to care for the queen, she barely will go back home also the queen will give her the affection and acceptance she is looking for. As for LBY they will be together for a year or so. She will learn to love him with all her heart. They will have a level of intimacy that she has never had with anyone, and when he goes bazurk, she will feel betrayed and left out, because she doesn't know what is going on. So breaking up the engagement although it was her choice will destroy her. For that reason she will 5 years later get engaged to YS. because she doesn't want to give her heart again to anyone.

She has an arranged marriage with someone else and is going to leave the palace. But before she leaves she will setup CSS to take the fall for he maid that she kills and it seems like the 5th princess had her killed. Then when LBY goes to the border , she kills her husband and goes to care for LBY. The king hears that she is there taking care of him and wants to arrange a marriage between the 2 when CSS gets engaged to YS. LBY doesn't say otherwise because he wants the king and new crown prince to leave him in the border. But in reality he is just using her. When he returns after 5 years , he says he wants the best for CSS and is fine with her engagement. But when he sees her. He gets jealous and starts doi g things to get back with her. At that po I nt CSS and YS had only been engaged for max a couple of months. LJT goes to CSS house trying to get her to convince LBY to marry her, but CSS doesn't like her, so she declines. Meanwhile LBY tells CSS to watch out for her because she killed 2 people. LBY tells LJT's father to arrange a marriage far away and send her away. When the queen dies CSS goes back to the queen's birthplace to run a last wish errand for the queen and LJT tries to kill her but CSS is no dummy and she is saved. Then LJT gets killed by someone else.

I think that if he had not proposed in this way she would have declined. And the story would not flow because she doesn't have feelings for him. This way because she made the decision based on her mother's attitude she has no choice but to go forward. If it had happened differently we would be in another story.

She is actually not really going to change. She is just going to step back and let her be. In the book the only time she shows concern is after the breakup with LBY because CSS is going to be so sick to almost dying. But she will be jealous of the relationship between CSS and the queen.

It was after 5 years of separation, and only because the queen told her she wanted to see her get married before she dies. Also., CSS asked a couple of the princes to marry her. And YS was spreading rumors about her saying she had a bad attitude so noone else wod try to marry her. She then accepted his proposal but because they are the same type of people not for love.

Today's episodes were Wow!! I laughed so hard, and then my heart broke!! I totally understand why CSS agreed to the marriage, after her mother acted like that in front of all these people she had no choice. Plus the fact that LBY actually thinks this way of her is what put the nail in the coffin. She can see that he really cares about her. My favorite part was when LBY said to Xiao Yuanyi, " Mrs Cheng , don't interrupt me!!!". I can only say that this show has my emotions tangled up. No space for any other nonsensical drama right now.

I stopped watching AvenueX's reviews when I realized her and I have different tastes in dramas. So not worth wasting my time with her channel. If the synopsis and trailer of the drama suits me, I will read reviews here and in other platforms then I will watch the first 5-10 episodes if after that it still does not catch my attention I drop it. Not worth wasting time reviewing stuff that I don't like.
