I was cracking up with the old Madam Cheng hugging the gifts.. I must say that when I read the book the dialogue on episode 21 was pretty much the same but I did tear up with LY and CSS when she took him aside to convince him to break the engagement and after it was so emotional. Although, since yesterday I feel that CSS has deeper feelings for LBY than she ever did for LY. In my opinion for an independent girl like her she freaks out with the intensity and the power she sees/feels in LBY and she knows that if she is with him she will lose herself in him and she doesn't want that. So she resists. Plus she knows she can't control him like LY. Let's see how long it takes her to learn to love him in part2.
Wow that last scene from episode 20 was WOW, Same line he told her when he rescued her from the bandits."Don't worry. I AM HERE" Yes he is. I Liked the falling leaves scene in the forest. I finished the book last night., I hope they give us more closure with the ending than the book. But one thing I loved, was that although LBY was willing to let CSS go when she asked the king to cancel the engagement and he left for the border, he did everything in his power to protect her and YS. And that bite!!! Lol!!! LJT told LBY that the bite mark on CSS was almost gone, and he like a Neanderthal, grabbed her from the Queen's party took her somewhere to talk and beg her to give him another chance and bite her again!!!
This drama is based on a novel by the author of Story of Minglan, if you are looking for a drama with no substance where it's lovey dovey from episode 2 than I am sorry this is not that kind of story, now if you are looking for a solid and beautiful drama about 2 people who come from dysfunctional families with a lot of baggage, this drama will take you on a journey of growth with a lot of healing and where 2 people learn to love and appreciate each other.

That's correct. In the novel both CSS and LY said they were not going to break up. But then He Zhaojun ask her to come while she collected the head of Prince Xiao and went to her father and brother's funeral, and CSS finally agreed with the condition that she would not demean LY anymore and would help him accomplish his dreams
The Engagement being broken will mess her up a bit because she feels that she is unlucky. It's interesting how they flipped the tower/ hunting ground scenes to after the engagement is broken, since she will be in a bit of a compromising position with LBY. Originally she was still engaged to LY when that scene happened.

She will have status just by being engaged to LBY. Plus both of them are an eye for an eye kind of people so don't worry they get their revenge from everyone. Also because she is like the queen's lady in waiting people will start respecting her a lot.
I cannot stand how Everyone (except LBY) says CSS has no manners, but none of them including puppy boy show her how to do a proper bow... Can't wait for the Queen to take CSS in hand.

He is her 2nd and last. As soon as her engagement ends, she will be engaged to LBY. Then she will enter the Palace for training.
