Agree, all part of Youku's ploy to generate more income!!

in the novel, Qingyan is a eunuch. MJH married her to him to keep her near himself. he was quite the trashy patriarchal male lead in the novel.

Hope so - it is dropping like crazy at the moment. Let the next arc commence!

she was the only one he ever poisoned. the whole idea was to frame Zhang Yin who had his army of Mobai warriors. That’s why he doesn’t have the antidote - he thought the chifuzi would be enough but it turned out her constitution was unsuitable.

doing ok. but last two days the youku heat index keeps dropping after a surge from ep 13-15.

it’s typically how monks address devotees; I think she mixed it up and addressed LXY (as Wu Xin) as that :)

Just saw an interview (trying to get a link to post) where Wu Jinyan said her strongest impression of Liu Xueyi was as Wu Xin (the monk in The Blood of Youth) and when they first filmed CP scenes, she felt ashamed and apologised for violating the shi1 zhu3. As filming went on, she realised how different LXY is as a person and opined that it must have been very tough acting as Wu Xin. It was hilarious!

I wish they had styled his hair differently...sniff. Anyway, does anyone know if there will be a print feature?

hmm is this really what the ending will be? Saw BTS of a middle-aged MRJH (i.e. with the ubiquitous age denoting beard) in an emperor's attire...

I just checked my Netflix. it’s coming to Singapore too!!!

that's exactly what I thought! These characters who spend their time in the temple or copying scriptures (the Empress in Legend of Zhen Huan is another one) all turn out to be so evil!!

I have only watched two shows with him - this one where I want to punch him every time he appears to wipe away that smirk, and the Pillow Book where I want to rip away the horrible hair wig they plonked on him.

The person who made her into an assassin and poisoned her...

Yes it does. But major changes have been made to the story and I am already preparing myself for a possible BE.

I am using the Xiaomi stick and manage to get Youku on it - however it is very jerky at times. It will have to do for now. Re Netflix acquiring rights, Youku posted officially on 19 October that it will make its debut on Netflix in some regions so it is official news, just not sure it will air in Singapore (where I am).

I don't know about Youku but WeTV has an app - at my mum's place with a much more advanced Smart TV, you can search for the app and download it. I am SVIP on chinese Youku but not much good it does here on my 15 year old TV haha. Hence was hoping to view via Netflix. Anyway, thanks everyone, I guess I will continue casting using my Xiaomi stick / watching on my small little phone!

Thanks! Since I paid subs for the services I prefer to put my money to good use PLUS the link does not work on my dinosaur of a TV.

thanks, but same problem watching either on TV haha.

Don't really care what she says - way too affected for me. I accept reviewers who are subjective (I mean, that really is what a review is right?) but I choose not to give time to reviewers who apply the same blinkered filters to every single drama and trash everything that does not fit within their parameters. To each his/her own, but not worth my time :)

hello, due to domestic issues (namely a 15 year old first generation smart TV), I haven’t been able to download Youku app and have had to rely on a TV stick that renders jerky images at times. I read that Netflix has purchased the drama but I can’t find it in my upcoming list. Any overseas viewers can find it in theirs? In the meantime I am watching this on my mobile via the Chinese version of the app (I subscribe to both) and it is too small for details! thanks!
