This drama was FANTASTIC. It had been a long time since I watched such a well-made and emotional Korean BL.
Positive aspects: - The acting was amazing. The chemistry between the leads felt natural and the complex feelings between the leads and secondary characters (Do Hoe's father, Hyun Ho, etc.) was delivered beautifully. I hope these actors get recognised and have opportunities in bigger dramas. - The melodrama was right on point, not overly dramatic and with no absurd or caricature-like scenes. The playful scenes were cute and sweet and the sad scenes were bitter and touching. - The love story was just beautiful. You could feel the emotions of adolescence building up and then the complexity of adult feelings, when you feel it's to late to go back but you also don't want to let go of that person and those times.
Negative aspects: - Overall, none. However, it may have been because of the subtitles and my non-proficiency in Korean, some parts about the past, the lies and what happened the fatidic day of the exam were a bit confusing. I don't know if they meant to do it that way to reveal everything in the last ep, but still.
I think they both deserve new partners. Please please please, let's collectively put an end to this pair as a…
I am really happy with the pairing, though! They seem comfortable with each other and the spicy scenes don't feel forced or unnatural... I guess their major problem is the type of series and scripts they are given, which often include a great deal of dumbness and lack of depth. To be fair, I think they do pretty well with what they are given.
I just finished it and agree to most. For the ex storyline, I was having additional issue - Diew straight up lied…
" Diew straight up lied to God." --> Completely agree! That's why I definitely understood the reason why God was angry at Diew and why he demanded explanations. I get that it was uncomfortable for Diew to bring up that topic since it was traumatic to him (being his first love and everything) However, in the end, Diew came to understand that sometimes he had to face and explain difficult things, otherwise he would just keep losing people he cared about. So I liked it because it brought growth for the characters (even though I despised that damn vet!). Also agree with the 3rd couple! Ï wish they had had more screentime, especially in tandem with God-Diew hahaha. That face-off was epic! Loved the moment when Game asked God if they were using protection lmao. God's face was priceless! 🤣
Contrary to general opinion (as I can gather from most coments), I really enjoyed this series and my overall balance is pretty positive. I feel it is a consistent romantic series that touches a very relatable topic, which is the difference between introverts and extroverts and how to navigate that discrepancy.
Positive aspects: - Character development has to be my biggest one here. You can see that in the beginning, Got was the one mostly adjusting to Diew's pace, but the conflict towards the end was a wake-up call for Diew and he learned to compromise and try a different approach, eventually enjoying it. - Friendship was great in this drama. No stupid fights or annoying side kicks. Bonus points for Game and his cute smile and Beer and his maturity (am I the only one who thinks he is an I and not an E?). - I appreciated that it was "very demure, very cutesy", but also having some more sensual scenes that didn't feel forced or overdone. It looked very natural in their relationship and you could actually see that Diew was the one who "initiated" it twice, which is brave for his character and shows how much he likes and trusts Got. - The final conflict with the ex was pretty realistic and it didn't drag too much. There were no absurd fights or arguments, I feel Got had the right to be angry and mistrustful in that situation and it helped Diew realise some things about his ways.
Negative aspects: - I was excited for the second couple, but it was a bit of a waste of time towards the end... Opposite to what I said about Got and Diew, I feel like this couple didn't grow at all, especially Wan. When, in the most crucial moment, he had the AUDACITY to ask Beer if he would still do his laundry.... I almost lost it. And if he did grow, we couldn't see much of it because they basically showed nothing of them in the last ep. - There was nothing very special or original about this drama, so you could say it is a very simple and forward story. You know how it starts and how it is going to end. - This is just me being petty but I haven't forgiven them for not giving us the mask scene which appeared in the pilot trailer. NEVER FORGET - Also, the turtle tank. Period.
The drama was cute, but I feel that the chemistry wasn't chemistrying much between the lead actors, especially in the kiss scenes. By far my favourite character was the "monster parent" friend, he was super nice and supportive of Isumi <3
I agree... is it his first drama as a lead and maybe that's why? I mostly noticed it in emotional scenes that involve crying, I think he needs to improve that a bit. Hoewver, the chemistry with Ohm is insane, especially in sensual tension scenes or intimate ones (I mean, the most "intimate" ones we have seen so far lol, I guess (and hope) there will be more).
Oh, Eris, Eris, Eris—let’s talk about this name that sounds like it belongs in a Greek tragedy rather than…
This comment is so tastefully written... No wonder you are a VIP! To be honest, I am struggling to continue with this series, but I agree that it brings back the old type of show we used to watch back in the day. Ep 2 got me thinking of Boys Over Flowers and that kind of trope of "I like you, therefore I'm going to treat you like sh*t and tease you until you give in". Also, the acting is a bit sloppy, in my opinion.
My boyfriend feeds me sometimes especially when it's something yummy or peel oranges and feed me while we watch…
I agree that is was a way for God to show love and care for Diew, and I also think Diew knew that too. However, taking into account Diew's past and personality, if someone feeds you and doesn't let you pay for anything and is looking constantly at you, it can also feel overwhelming. Also, Diew expressed to God that he also wanted God to have fun with his friends, so I guess Diew was feeling guilty that he tagged along on the friend trip only to "take God away" from his friends. Anyways, so glad they communicated and cleared the air! For them to end up having the sweetest first time ever, was the cherry on top! :))
struggling to get through episode one. silly comedy just isn't for me.
I also felt the same during the first one or two episodes, because I don't like stupid comedy either, but it gets better after that, so I recommend you give it a shot hehe.
If I were you, I wouldn't base my watch or not watch decision on people's comments... As user Steph said, the…
Yes, I would encourage you to do so! Also, I don't see as many similarities between this drama and Middleman's Love as people are saying. For a start, Yim's character (Ob'aun) might be naive, but he doesn't act as clueless and dumb as his character in Middleman's Love. Both main characters seem more or less balanced and I also love the aspect of it having different stories (the fictional ones and the real life ones). So yes, definitely give it a try when you feel like it! Sorry for the rant hehe :))
because of the comments probably i'm not going to watch it...sadly because i think both of them deserve better…
If I were you, I wouldn't base my watch or not watch decision on people's comments... As user Steph said, the show is nice and I am also enjoying it a lot (despite the confusing "novel scenes"), so maybe you can watch the first couple of episodes and see how you like it.
yes tf ☠️ acting like this hasnt been done before in non-bl and been popular
I don't think this is such a slow drama, tbh. Taking into account that episodes are just 20 min long and that Taishin is a pretty shy person and Takara is super reserved and cool... the surprising thing to me would be that they would start dating in the 4th episode. I assume that the first episodes were just to set the context and the tone of the story to then develop it. But well, I also get that for some viewers it might feel a bit slow hehe :))

When are they going to upload the rest of the episodes? 😭
