This show is amazing! The unique setting, unconventional plot progression, and fictional culture was extremely well done. I loved the many layers to the fictional location of trilateral slopes. The layers to the characters, the messy loyalties, and how people end up swallowed by the evils there were cleverly written and showed many layers to everyone's moralities.
The irony of the charity groups was a great addition to the story. So many charity organizations are shams where people give money just for their reputation, to get tax write offs, or to launder money. Charity groups often give solutions to aspects of third world people's lives without considering that survival is their biggest concern.
Hopeful ignorance won't change anything. Calculated moves that chip away at the effects of evil eventually leave to removing the root cause. Then prevention, rehabilitation, and a proper justice systems can stop the society from devolving again.
This show is an absolute terrible messy mess. Typically in forbidden romance stories there's self-restrain, knowing where the boundaries are, and considering situation over feelings. But the FL is just straight up really weird, the ML is really weird, the FL's friend is really weird, every character has very odd morals. It's hilarious how the FL isn't a responsible teacher, an honest partner, or a mature adult. The ML is quite the obsessive and childish character as well and has no qualms about going after an adult, teacher, or his brother's current serious girlfriend.
Despite all that, it makes for a very interesting watch. Most of the experience was me laughing awkwardly at these characters acting bonkers. Genuinely some fun nonsense.
This was genuinely funny and felt like a creative spin on the typical short length series. The FL is genuinely smart, fights back and wins, and protects the ML even though he may have more business power. They're a great power couple where the FL takes the lead and the ML is just happy to be there even if people misunderstand him as a kept man.
It is a slow movie, but that's very reminiscent of its time. It's genuinely quite intriguing with layers of mystery throughout the dramatic romance. It had a very surprising ending as well. It holds up well and the fun beach setting with the sun tribe time period made for an interesting watch.
I absolutely hated this. SA is a terrible thing that destroys and this movie does exactly that. There's no nuance,…
This could've been a meaningful story with two broken people bonding over their trauma, internalized hatred, and healing. Instead it's just a a gross depiction of SA over and over again with no real sympathy or care for actual SA victims.
I absolutely hated this. SA is a terrible thing that destroys and this movie does exactly that. There's no nuance, sympathy, or sincerity in this. The graphic gratuitous SA scenes perpetrate exactly what the story is attempting to go against. A viewer can feel disgusted and horrified with way less than they showed. Instead the directing seemed to enjoy such scenes and I hated every second of it and had to skip so much of the runtime. I finally dropped this with 30 minutes left after the FL "goes against" the assaulter is the dumbest and unrealistic way possible.
The height difference was so adorable. I loved that the ML still bought her heels and she continued to wear them even if they made her even taller than the ML.
The plot was so unique with complex characters. I would've loved to see this have a full-length adaption where they showed their friendship more and developed the complexes more. The casting was perfect with the leads fitting their characters really well. The actor for the ML definitely had some pretty stiff acting, but he fit the character really well.

I love the remake.
