A small town where nobody knows what a kdrama is

This movie was so beautiful. The fork scene made me cry and it was such a simple, yet deep scene. Even with such little plot and little dialogue, the movie portrays so much.

Read the comment below for a rant.
This movie feels like an old 2000's meldrama mixed with the typical korean crime movie.

The story is plain, but if done well, it could've been a great watch. The production and camerawork is great, but with the passionless plot, you can tell not much work was put into this. There was such an emphasis on cinematography and unique transitions, but some of those just took me out of the movie because they were so misplaced. The plot is barely there with such thin and simple plot points and they fail to connect you to the movie.

The romance didn't feel like romance even if the acting was great. The random attempts at humor failed. Park Chan Wook is a great director and that is the only good aspect of the movie. The story wasn't good, the characters weren't good, and the script wasn't good. Only the presentation was good and it's sad that Park Chan Wook seemed to only put an emphasis on that and not the story.

A story doesn't need to be big or complex to be good, it just has to be good.

I dropped it at ep 8. Read below if you want to listen to a rant. Also no shade to anybody that enjoyed it! I…
I'm a little confused as to why this show is so popular atm. The plot is such a good base and the FL is a super fun actress, but the script is just not good. The ML is from a different time period and he's a fictional character yet that barely means anything after the first ep? Instead of the funny hijinks of him learning things about the 21st century, he goes to a library and comes out a modern man?? The ML is essentially a normal tsundere dude with some martial art skills, what was the point of the plot if that wasn't actually going to be a part of the plot??

Possibly plot points they easily could've done to make better. Even if they've been done before, they're still interesting to watch.
*There could've been eps where the FL went into the ML's story and it could be a back and forth.
*The ML could start off as an exact replica of the character she wrote, but after realizing that he has free will, he could chose himself what type of person he wants to be.
*The FL could feel sorry for writing a traumatic backstory for ML, because he's a real person standing in front of him. This could be a conflict and her guilt could cause space between them.
*Girl can literrally control him and if he doesn't listen, his head hurts him. That's another thing that could create some really funny situations, instead it isn't utilized at all.

Also no shade to anybody that enjoyed it! I definitely understand why people would like this show. It's still a fun lighthearted rom-com, its just wasn't for me :)

There were times I legitimately couldn't follow the dialogue because Seo In Guk is so beautiful I couldn't focus on anything else.

A pretty fun movie with the ending being the best part.

I dropped it half way through. This movie has some really talented actors who are usually amazing, but everybody's performance in this is really jilted. The directing and screenplay is really bad, it feels like a rookie movie.

I normally really enjoy older woman/younger man romances because I think the dynamics are so fun, but this one did not sit right with me. The ML is still in highschool and the oldest he could be is like 18? But his mentality is that of a middle schooler whereas the FL is around mid 20's with a kind of daughter. She's a full grown adult and doesn't seem to have any boundaries with this apparent highschool that acts way younger than a high schooler. It just made me really uncomfortable especially since she doesn't seem to think of it as strange at all.

Why are the cases so easy to guess? The ML is supposed to be a genius but his deduction skills are pretty subpar. Dude literally saw a guy in a wheelchair, looked directly at his shoes with creases which meant they were worn a lot, and didn't even think about it until afterwards??

And the FL is supposed to be smart too, but shes pretty slow in her case guessing. They literally follow a suspect to a graveyard and they believe him to be a murderer. He is literally digging a grave and the FL is confused as to why he's doing it?? Brooo it's literally to hide the body of the person that they suspect he just killed! I don't get ittt.

I absolutely love the vibe and tone of the show. It's set in the 1900's with beautiful set design and costume design, but I don't know whether to keep watching it or not. The crew who worked on the set obviously worked harder than those that made the script. Currently on ep 6, we'll see if I actually drop it or not.

I'm on 2nd episode, but the male lead is calling fl '"hey psycho''? He's literally a doctor, more specifically…
Despite this being a drama around psychology, it is handled very poorly. But keep trying, it's honestly a really good romance.

This has got to be one of my favorite couples of all time! I absolutely loved their hate to love romance where they always kept the same bickering friendship too. I love that the ML fell in love with her and saw her flaws as more things to love.

She never got a makeover and kept her rosy cheeks even at the end. The ML was rich, but that never played a huge role and instead of the FL moving into his huge apartment in the end, he moved in with her. He moved into her cozy small home, because that was her safe place and it felt like a part of her, so he loved that too.

Solid 8/10. Just skip all scenes of the secondary couple and that last few episodes, you can literally skip to the the main couples scenes because a ton of random drama happens. That's a 2015 kdrama for ya.

Title Under the Skin Spoiler
as far as i can tell, the teacher has a wife who he pushed on wheelchair, and theres that scene where shortly…
I honestly think the writer may have just forgotten or ran out of screentime to show the wife. Because they both died that same day.
