My theory is that Zhao Yuan's power weakens when he falls in love. There was a flashback scene between ZYZ and…
Omg you might be onto something! I'm looking forward to today's episode bc of the story between the original demon lord and Baize goddess - most likely it'll have some element of foreshadowing.
So anyone want to discuss why would ZYZ fainted when he was talking to WX and there is a flashback about their…
Omg this is what I was thinking about too. They made a soul-binding contract with that silly clause about "working as colleagues", but could it have serious risks if their relationship progresses beyond colleagues? Technically this would be breaching the contract. He's also been drinking that jade drink which is said to be spiritually replenishing, so maybe it was just a combination of a pre-existing weakness and his wounds at that time, the contract didn't have anything to do with it. Although the timing of the flashback is still iffy.
Hi, Can someone spoil me what's the past relationship between Yi Ning and Jia Xue? Why is he so obsessed?
They were basically lovers. She met him when she was living in the side yard, and at the time he was blind. They grew close and were even discussing their marriage until he appeared to 'betray' her.
so on ep4, Wen Xiao throws the powder at the big boss then runs away while the big boss faints. They really can't…
Even if they killed him it I don't think it would make a difference since he is only possessing that body, it's not actually him. He's still trapped in the cave.
first time watching this actor and I'm in love with him.. he is sooooo good..so macho...so everything! and the…
I was gonna recommend Love of Nirvana too, it's truly my favourite of all his works. I also really recommend the healing drama Twilight, it's so underrated and the character he plays, Shanshan, is an absolute cutie. The complete opposite to his character here haha
I think flashbacks are the lesser evil when dealing with backstory, compared to just being told everything through…
I agree! And I should probably clarify I think the flashbacks are much needed, as it gives us a strong sense of each character's motives and roles moving forward. All the more to get us invested in the characters.
Qi Lianshan is such a fresh character. He completely subverts the typical portrayal of a male lead as he is quite naive - but this is because of a misguided sense of loyalty and deep-rooted abandonment issues. He feels like he needs to give back or return all the love and support he has received from his brother by working endlessly for him and sacrificing his own wellbeing.
But it is precisely because of his kindness and selflessness that he is able to develop a strong support system with old and new friends and develop his independence slowly. If you're looking for a reason to start this drama - here it is! His character development is amazing and so satisfying to watch. And the drama reminds us that in the end, good people will always get good outcomes.
I do feel like because there's so many flashbacks, the movement of the current plot, including the character development, is somewhat slower (and therefore "lighter"). They need the flashbacks to reveal the character's backstory, but because it's an ensemble cast there are multiple intersecting storylines, so some must be developed at slower pace than others. E.g so far we have PS as the only main character whose backstory has been resolved.
This also means in terms of the development of relationships (e.g ZYZ/WX, or ZYZ/ZYC) and characters (e.g WX), we won't be getting much because we're still only in the initial episodes. Although I did notice ZYC sounded less impassioned when repeating his promise to kill ZYZ than before 😆
At least since we're still at the beginning, we can enjoy the comedy and silliness without too much heartbreak. I'm both excited for and dreading the angst ðŸ˜
But wait, Li Lun getting so close to Ying Lei means he'll try to make him touch his leaves... so to speak? I don't…
Zhu Yan left Ying Lei behind on purpose. He probably knew Li Lun wouldn't hurt him bc of his debt to YL's grandfather, so that made YL the ideal person to guard the sundial. So YL should be safe from being his parasite, but they might fight each other.
Although it's not the focus of the drama, the romance between the leads is so fun to watch! It's a lot of flirtation and banter, like they are kind of testing the waters and seeing how far the other can go without revealing their feelings. I personally love their dynamics and CDL and HMH have amazing chemistry.
