Zhao's mother just accepted Whining as daughter in law? When Niu was married twice &her husbands died she's evil…
Saaame like I wasn't even mad when Zhao forced his grandpa to step down bc I don't like his grandpa either 😭 grandpa schemed too close to the sun when he chose Niu over Yingying and got burned by his own choices
Yesss the humour is so unserious, which is def on purpose to distract viewers from the angst 😭 are there any upcoming dramas you're looking out for? I think I might start Blossom when it comes out soon.
I have watched FoF and I think it's less of a tragic ending than TSOPG. In fact, I interpreted it as a pretty open ending (ending on a hopeful note with the special ep) so I was satisfied. It's an ensemble cast, and a huge focus of the drama is the relationship dynamics - friendship, enemies, lovers and everything in between. If you're into a more character-driven plot, you would probably enjoy it.
Thanks, I am actually really enjoying the chemistry of the leads (hope you're right about the ending too). But hopefully you found some good dramas from the recs in this thread?
I think Zhang Haowei did most of the heavy lifting in the 2ML role and he did it well. His face replacement just…
I agree! I almost wish they didn't make the 2ML despicable so quickly, it would have been interesting to see his arc if he'd still held on to his same principles and beliefs on power while being cornered. But it makes sense that they don't want this particular plot point to be dragged out to make way for the main pairing.
Maybe wait until half the episodes are released if you don't want to wait too long! I also started Brocade Odyssey, which reminds me a little bit of TSOPG and seems pretty interesting so far if you're into the "second love" trope (ML isn't her first love). But again, it's ongoing haha.
just started watching this yesterday (im on ep 7) and I absolutely LOVE that they're doing the trope where the ML is her "last love". 2ML is actually nice so far, and the couple are sweet together, but they're clearly lacking the chemistry found in the FL/ML main pairing. Currently the FL is quite naive in her thoughts on marriage, and will probably end up learning a difficult lesson on love. Can't wait to see how this plays out and watch her growth (after the inevitable heartbreak and angst)
ML isn't the real son. The real son died (maybe the boy from the 2nd ML's backstory?) and he is the "replacement". ML said his parents are the kind who can easily replace their children. Also in the flashback, ML's mom said "my real son eats fish", while it was clear he hated fish - so he had to learn to pretend to be someone else.
