I consider character development and character growth 2 very different things. Episode 08 was pretty different from recent 2 episodes. I was more like a family holiday at christmas. I really loved this episode. I think this show is strong competitor to be in top 10 shows of past 3-5 years from all demographics.
Kept man is quite a new term for me. I'm bit surprised how loosely its defined. What about a Housewife then? What about a househusband then? You should have same expectations from both gender. Just because mitsuru is a male an expectation is already build for him to be a breadwinner and passively an idea is broadcasted that a Male has to provide for a female whereas in reality female population is working hard to provide for family. The term itself is insulting both gender by tying both to such a narrowly cooked views.
Ofcourse, Mitsuru's situation is quite unique and to a visible extent different. But you have to accept Everyone in the show is following the same trap of society where everyone's role is restricted and defined by only one means. This show is brilliant and a must watch.
Why? Because at one time this show confirms to sociail expectations and realities on the other hand it tries to be 21st century society too where gender biases loose their lines while confirming as well confronting them.

Okada Kenshi is looking too handsome here. Watched episode 05 few hours ago. Another awesome episode. New female character is introduced and she is economically as well as professionally opposite of Mitsuru. So we now have Sister+daughter+new female vs. Mitsuru.
Viewers gonna complain about Mitsuru but i think his character is quite authentic. Change is imminent but not easy. Expecting Mitsuru to walk new path just because few people have appeared in his life for few months is ridiculous. He's in a status-quo with himself. Selfish he is but that also lets us see the atmosphere he's in for past 72+1 month.
Enjoy the comic of age journey of this 31 year old Mitsuru.
I say movie is disappointing. Action in parts looks good but overall it doesn't iginite any excitement. Story is pretty rushed. Kento annoys you. Hashimoto Kanna is just there because she's an Idol. Nagasawa Masami looks cool in dress but has the least of sceentime and doesn't even have much action scenes. Whatever action scenes she have look fake. Yoshizawa Ryo has done well. Rest are mediocre. Director and Scriptwriter are clearly responsible for lack of energy and logic in the story.
Kento - is one the weakest link of the movie as character as well as actor.
Overall - Watch the move for Kingdom manga. Hardly 1 time worth watch.

This move has nice outcome. Nice outcome for a HERO. But still it lacks character. Mei Nagano is cute and all nd Takuya is as usual but i feel this writer missed to bring the theme of the story on front. Its 1 time enjoyable timepass.

Typical Shoujo Movie - Timepass - time watch. More like 115 minutes of IDOl promotion. Ryusei is everywhere in Japanese media but he really need to join a theatre to learn various levels of acting. its not like others are any better.
The whole show is such a nice Experience. Manage the time the real chant of the show. The show tackled a very serious issue of Japanese Society. To some it might look Preacy but that's the style of Japanese Dramas. This show makes you think over what is Effective working style, What is job Satisfaction. The work environment and the way its linked with your social life.
Love is part of life and not life itself and this point gets to shine in Japanese Dramas. Employees make the company. Citizens make a nation, Humans form workable society.
