I really miss the real Nayeon. She is lovely, bright, friendly, adorable and fun to hang out with. Sadly since Heedoo came, she has been showing her worst self. She said she wants a man who adores her, accepts her the way she is. Taei, Wonbin, Gyumin were originally attracted to her, but she chooses the ONLY man who doesn't respect her, not even an inch. It's embarrassing when someone scolds or criticizes you, pointing at your mistakes and weaknesses in front of everyone. Even Hyungyu looks sorry for Nayeon. Hae-eun is so lucky to have Hyungyu. Really, this is the kind of man that Nayeon must have. Nayeon is fooling herself by imagining a happily ever after with Heedoo.

Hae-eun x Hyungyu, Naeon x Taei, Nayeon x Gyumin.

I hope the 3 pairings stay like this until the end. Only Jin Jiayue needs to choose between the two new guys. But will there be another girl coming? I hope it's not like season 4 with odd numbers.

I just want to correct the information. Jungkwon and Hyesun dated for 6 months. Joohwi and Minyoung dated for 4 months with a few months of flirting time, broke up 3 years before the show. Hyesun was brokenhearted bcs Jungkwon ditched her since day 1, different from his sweet talk on the pre-meeting. She misunderstood him.

China is rich in history and proud of it. A character time traveled to the past will change the history and eventually change the future, means change what have been written. It is different from fictional story/characters based on history. Bcs they are fictional made out of a timeline or figure of real history. A drama may take a long time to finally pass the censorship. However the censorship only applies on drama and tv shows. Novelists have more freedom to write stories.

Oh I just read this comment. Just want to say Heedoo doesn't treat Nayeon with respect. He never did. He asks Nayeon to respect and care for him, but he never does the same to her. The way he treats Nayeon and the other girls are complete opposite. At least Gyumin doesn't yell at Hae-eun in front of everyone. He is the type of man who will change his gf into his ideal woman.

Based on the drama, yes the 4 souls from 1936 reincarnated into 2018: Chi Yu, Ayin, A Ze, Taotao. Somehow they are connected.

Let's summarize it:
Qinyu was originally a cold, ignorant, arrogant person. He ignored Xiaoyun who desperately needed help. She died. Her brother Darong wanted to avenge her by indirectly killing Qinyu. Jin Zi got involved. What Qinyu did had him pay for it. So God sent him to 2018 to "learn". Apparently Chi Yu has the same character with Qinyu. He helped Taotao out of courtesy, but she wanted more. It became disaster. It was 1936 all over again. So God pulled Qinyu back to 1936. He learned everything he did in 1936 was wrong, so he tried to fix it by giving justice to the Yang siblings. Yang siblings could rest in peace. Then all 4 of them reincarnated into 2018 and live in peace. In "real 2018", Taotao and A Ze are not connected to Chi Yu. Even Teng Xi isn't an actress! So there is NO way A Ze would kill Chi Yu. Another thing. When Chi Yu was murdered, his body is never found. Instead, Qinyu appeared. Think about possibilities: Chi Yu's soul was sleeping inside Qinyu? Or his body was swallowed into black hole? Or the same soul can't be in the same place/era? Anyway, Qinyu is gone, Chi Yu appeared. Somehow remembers he was attacked? It's not that Chi Yu remembers his past life as Qinyu, he remembers the thing that happened in "dream 2018". It was supposed to be a "dream" that only Qinyu and Ayin knew. So other than this explanation, what else can it be? But still, if not bcs of the censorship, they would give real explanations to us instead of making us deduct it ourselves 😭

Based on the deductions: somehow Chi Yu remembers that he was attacked by A Ze. Everything that happened, it was just a "dream" and only Qinyu and Ayin experienced the "dream 2018". The people in "real 2018" are the exact opposite of the "dream 2018". So why would Chi Yu remembers the "dream 2018"? Qinyu, Jin Zi, Yang siblings reincarnated into the souls in 2018. So we assumed that Chi Yu comes to the bus stop to see her again (just like what Qinyu said on the tram). That's why the notes at the end is "the end and the beginning".

Then how do you explain how and why did Chi Yu remember he was attacked and pushed into the water? The current A Ze doesn't have any hatred towards Chi Yu bcs his soul in 1936 got his justice after his sister died. The elder said Chi Yu fell into the water. The elder also said someone asked him to find Chi Yu which of course it was Qinyu. Qinyu managed to solve the entangled fates and souls in both era. Which is why their souls in current 2018 live in peace and happy.

"That's the end and the beginning". It means the end of Qinyu and Ayin's story, the start of Chi Yu and Ayin's story.

A person named xmag has made deductions of the ending and here's the summary:

1. Ayin and Qinyu had the same dream.

2. Qinyu was sent to 2018 to solve the mystery that is connected to his death in 1936 which apparently involved 3 other people.

3. Qinyu doesn't change the past. He does exactly as how his life is written in the present.

4. Qinyu is able to give justice for the 1936 A Ze and Taotao. This makes all the past souls reincarnated into good people bcs they have no hatred towards Qinyu anymore.

5. Chi Yu wakes up and remembers someone hit her and pushed him into the water, but the elder said he fell into the water. It's bcs A Ze has no relationship with Chi Yu. So he didn't kill Chi Yu.

6. The elder said he was asked by someone to find Chi Yu. That "someone" is Qinyu.

7. Chi Yu and Ayin remember the dream 2018.

8. Qinyu appears on the tram is Ayin's illusion. As if he's telling her he will come to see her.

9. "That's the end and the beginning". It means Qinyu and Ayin's story ended, Chi Yu and Ayin's story starts. Chi Yu finally meets Ayin at the bus stop.

The reason they didn't show a proper ending is bcs of the censorship 😭 this is the best they could do for a time travel drama.

Bcs season 1 was immensely popular. Season 1 originally had 12 episodes or so, but they made it into 15 episodes. Then EXchange won an award. That's why the staff planned season 2 for 20 episodes 🙄 I think it's too much too I want it to end now.

You forgot the happy ending where they finally meet again at the bus stop 👍🏻 Chi Yu is Qinyu's reincarnation with the memories of the "dream 2018".

Since you only watch a few episodes, you have no idea how wonderful Ayin is. Tbh she's very realistic person. She's not the dumb, annoying stalker kind of FL. She's cute, simple, smart, sincere, hard working, loyal, polite, forgiving, values family, and she isn't a money catcher. She needs money, but she won't take it for free.

When Qinyu stole her money, she wasn't mad or call the police. That money was her saving to get her grandma to live with her. She didn't even use it to pay her rent. But she forgave him! Even willing to give the money if he asks for it. She befriended Taotao and A Ze despite their situations and gives money to A Ze and pays for Taotao's hospital bill.

Ayin is important for Qinyu's growth. She provided Qinyu food and shelter, taught him about the modern era, helped him secretly. She is smart enough to make deductions and helped Qinyu in things he didn't realize before. If it wasn't bcs of Ayin, he would go the long way bcs no one would believe him. Now he becomes the star of his own movie, meets Chi Yu's parents and feels parents love. She tells Abao to call their mom and grandma, tells Qinyu to be kind to Chi Yu's parents. All bcs she values family and that's what a child should do.

Now: I regretted choosing you. I knew the atmosphere would be like this.

Then: I was happy when Heedoo chose me. We never take a plane during our 4 years of dating. I don't want he goes with other girl.
Now: I should've chosen Gyumin. I ditched him for you and now here we are.
-> You never learn.

I said that I dislike Heedoo since the start. He is good as a friend, but as a boyfriend he is awful. He is a tsundere, harsh, ALWAYS complains, nags, angry. He doesn't know how to talk politely, with heart, a bit gentler. Like in this ep. Nayeon accidentally dropped the glass, then he went to Hulk mode. When she tried to help, he got even angrier 😑 Dude, some people are clumsy: dropping things (like my mom), forgetting things, hurting themselves (like me), suddenly fall when walking. It's not a sin, not a crime. Why does he always have to make a big deal out of it? Can't he talk without breathing fire? He's so rude.

I don't know why Nayeon still chooses him despite knowing they will never work? "Why we didn't work out?" Even from the third person pov it's super obvious. Heedoo never tolerates her habits and character. Nayeon is sensitive to his words. For a relationship to last long, respect, trust, and communication are the most important. Love won't make you survive. Why do you still hold on to love if your partner doesn't respect you? Why do you still hold on to love if you can't communicate two ways?

Actually Nayeon and Hae-eun are the same. Nayeon is being treated like that, but still chooses Heedoo despite having a sweet guy liking her. Hae-eun still chooses Gyumin despite him never gives her hope. The difference between Heedoo and Gyumin: Heedoo is playing both Nayeon and Jiyeon, giving both girls hope, while Gyumin has been consistent to Nayeon. In conclusion, both Nayeon and Hae-eun have to let go of their exes to be happy. Love is an open dooo---orrr.
