I didn't expect this mini drama to be so good! I was hooked! It is eerie, dark, sad, tragic and mysterious. I thought it would be a fantasy romance drama like TDHR, but it is not. The plot twist is good, the plot will keep you wondering what exactly happened.
This drama should be called "Who Killed Liu Zhaodi?" or "The Tragic Life of Liu Zhaodi". This is yet a realistic example of how hard a woman's life during ancient times. They had no freedom, no choices, no way out, could only be passed on from one hand to another, could only accept their fate. Sad, tragic, lonely. A woman's happiness depends on their husbands. Only a few could fight and depend on themselves.
By the end, at the last episode, I was like "YOU DESERVE IT!!" Damn! 😡
I watched the op clip and thought "I've seen this guy (the cousin)." Turned out he was the ugly creepy stalker in SSS. Here he plays yet another ugly creepy stalker. How I wish the cousin was played by Sun Zujun. Although he always gets the role of a jerk, he is handsome and masculine. The actor playing the cousin here looks feminine and frail, just like how he was in SSS. Is that how the cousin is described in the novel?

If you want a very lighthearted and silly to watch, then this is for you. There is no villain or bad guy at all. Just stop at where they kiss on the last ep.

Anyway, Bao Shangen is perfect for this kind of role/drama. She is best for a lively, expressive, cute and drama queen role in a lighthearted, comedy drama. Her as Huang Rong was a miscast, but as Ming Tan and Li Song'er, she shines.
This remake consists two parts. On the sequel part, He Yu only appears on ep 1. On the prequel part, he and Meng Ziyi are the main characters in Nin Yin Manual arc and supporting characters in Eastern Heretic & Western Venom arc.

He is such a good guy, he loves FL and his only brother. The FL is a good actress, I could feel her hatred. It's just that almost everything is messy.
Like any other people who watched this. The star sect doctor is a cutie. Although the ML is a green flag, but FL and this doctor are a much more perfect as a couple. FL laughs, smiles, relax, and jokes with him, just like a normal girl. He makes her forget her mission and painful past. His cheerful and easy going personality merges with her lovely and feminine charm.
Other thing that i like is she doesn't forget her mission just bcos she supposedly "loves" ML.
It is a romcom, with no conflict at all, no villain, nothing. Just a modern girl trying to finish her game mission and eventually becomes the gf of her supposedly enemy.
If you ask me who is the villain? Perhaps the game system. So noisy.
