I do not celebrate but I wish you a nice holiday (:
I was finishing off some movies that I've been delaying for a long time; not only Asian but also from Hollywood and Bllywood. I've been bad with them. I also need to catch up with Reply 1994 because I haven't watched any episode since ep 15 and the drama ends today.
Saving General Yang is based on a Chinese lengendary story; 70% of its events actually happened in history and general Yang is a real historical figure from the Song Dynasty. The other 30% is a fictional built up and yes, Yang had seven sons and his sixth son also had a great worrior for son (you will undestand why the sixth son if you watch the movie). This version is a fresh telling of the classic; the cast was top-notch and it's not even long. Since you're slowly discovering the Chinese cinema, I advise you to watch this secret (:
Kou was actually great. She showed us that female detectives can shine even in a male oriented police department. I liked the movie but I missed Yukawa so badly. We only got 3 or 4 minutes with him :(

I didn't mean that you were wrong because you haven't seen the other movies but you were wrong about saying that "other actors picked for the role aren't martial artist" while Dennis To is in fact a champion in Martial arts. Anyway, I wish you a nice watch if you ever saw them.
I dont know why but I watched the first 2 eps of hanazawa naoki and found them boring. Does it get better or is…
For starters, there's a cliché-free soryline, a unique theme, amazing characters, flips and turns all the time and let's not forget the amazing performance by Sakai Masato.
Thank you for your article. I'll bookmark it so that I can come back to it if I want to watch a good japanese…
Does it have to be from this year? I heard that Saiko no Rikon is a mature romantic comedy, there's also Rich Man Poor Woman from last year. As for a family drama, you can try Woman and Tonbi, I am sure that they would suit your taste.

Since you didn't like the first two episodes then I doubt if it will ever get better for you, to each his taste. I already said that business dramas won't be to everyone's liking.
Great article Cheerful :) I will be sure to add some of these dramas to my list. My top favorites this year would…
You're welcome winnie (:
You know that I haven't seen neither Tonbi nor Woman. Slice of life isn't even close to my favorite genres and I hate touchy stories so yeah, I couldn't mention something I didn't watch^^
i didn't liked Kazoku Game, I think it's overrated if you added tonbi, woman, and saikou no rikon your list will…
I haven't seen Tonbi and Woman because I dislike touchy things but I do realize that the lovers of the "Slice of Life" genre would love it.
I also didn't watch Saikou no Rikon because by the time it got fully subbed, I made a pact of not watching any romantic comedies (:
Wow Cheer that's a very well-written article, great job! My favorites of the year would be Kurokouchi, Otenki…
Thanks Sunbae (:

I am nit in a rush to watch it no matter how much people say it's awesome. You know my hostory with Taiwnese dramas, I am barely recovering from Love Around and Just You. I am not ready to throw myself at another adventure any time soon :D
I am a bit focused on movies instead of dramas at the moment. Are you still watching movies?
