Were you able to find this drama subbed in the end?I found it on ondramanice.io
It was entertaining, but the story is not that special, if that makes any sense. It does touch slightly on differences in the generation gaps and the different values of tradition, which I found interesting.
I thought they banned time travel movies? All I want is Chu Wang Fei to be adapted is that too much?
I want that too!!! ‧º·(˚ ˃̣̣̥⌓˂̣̣̥ )‧º·˚
But they edited this story in the drama so that there was no time travelling reference and that's why it was allowed. Personally, I felt that it would have been better, story-wise, if they were able to use time-travelling, but considering the ban, they did a pretty good job with the story.
There’s no time travelling in the drama. The synopsis is from the novel. China has a ban on time travelling…
I wasn't referring to any one specific drama when I used that example. The examples I gave were just examples of WHY they decided to ban time travelling. I understand that not all the protagonists may end up having happy endings, but a few bad apples spoils the bunch.

I think it was because some dramas/stories used time-travelling too lightheartedly. They didn't want people to view the Chinese culture/history in a frivolous manner. I also believe that it has something to do with people's opinions on the current Chinese government/society. They don't want to promote negative views on current society, etc. I.e. protagonist lives unhappy life in modern times and time travels to past and lives happily; changing the past to change the future that the protagonist sees as bad/corrupt ; etc.
Thanks!
Trying to decide if it is worth watching.
Maybe they set the video to private temporarily to change some things?

But the rating is only from 37 users, so it’s easily affected by just one or two bad ratings.
China has a ban on time travelling in broadcast so the scriptwriters had to change the time travelling bit that was originally in the novel.
Can only find episodes on iqiyi...
