ep started with revealing what happened to DS's partner years ago and that he wasn't at fault.
Then they showed us behind that message and how DS got the phone. During the night Minjung died, DS felt restless and went over to Jinmook's house. in the basement, he found the phone and the fingers. when he was about to report the case he had a flashback of a conversation during the second ep "if you don"t have a body you can't have a murder case" he searched for the body but couldn't find it. Then DS decided to catch him no matter what and set a trap for Jinmook. yes, he is a serial killer.
Then DS Moved her fingers & stole the phone. then he sent messages to JM which attracted the attention of Jihwa. When they were going to search all the areas right then JM went in panic mode and decided to move the body and right then JW & DS arrested him redhanded. Some more explanations are revealed in ep 8 as well.

Alright. Let's get started.
HJW's past motive: while working on other case he stumbled upon on Manyang and Dongsik. Also he made serial killing connections but nobody believed him and he got kicked out from his old team. then he moved into Manyang police station, his father wanted him to stay low there but his real reason was to find the murderer. Since he sent Lee Gumhwa on scene to use her as bait in a "sting operation" she sent "1" as message that made HJW doubt LDS even more but appears she meant completely different thing and LDS isn't killer but Kang Jinmook was. LDS can be guilty for placing Minjung's fingers and not calling 112 at once but he had reason for it. in order to catch KJM with all his crimes he had to play a game with him.
HJW's current motive: After he found out that Nam Sangbae was the one who killed(?) Jinmook and Jieun saw him, that even the police station knew it but never told anything to Dongsik he used dongsik's own mind game and made him doubt everyone in Manyang. "do they even think of you as their own?" so he'd start digging more of that could be behind serial killings. LDS's sister wasn't the victim of Jinmook. yes he hid the body but her body had a lot of broken bones like she got run over with car. so there must be someone else. suspects are the construction chef congresswoman and JW's father. also, Jungjae could be a witness too.
How DS found Jooyeon's body: Jinmook occasionally took videos of DS's mother to send it? or show it to DS afterward. in that video his mom told JM to not work on construction and go home. DS thought he might've buried her in his home and started searching but found nothing. then he visited his mom in hospital and she talked about past again saying "leave boiler alone Jinmook" and then Dongsik got flashback "i sent Yooyeon back to you" so he went in basement where boiler used to be and now wall was. broke it down and found her body. so JM basically did "return" her to him.
Why Nan Sangbae died: because he was about to tell DS truth i guess. He went to that place with a recorder and a gun. (to kill whoever he was gonna meet) but he got killed instead. i think NSB was manipulated into killing JM and then to shut him up someone killed him. who did that we'll find out later.

He has reason for everything. after i watched ep 9 I commented here as well that i knew he had some plan. He never does smth that has no meaning behind. You'll find out in ep 10.

I knew Joowon had a plan behind all of that. He is a quick learner. He did exact same thing as Dongsik made him go through.
He made him suspect everyone, telling him Manyang people might not even think of him as one of theirs since they've hidden the truth about NSB being in the police station that night. He triggered him on purpose, so he'd go towards a real answer that's been buried beneath these serial killings.
I knew that Jinmook wasn't lying when he said that he didn't kill Yuyeon. He probably had to hide the body and make it look like it was part of a serial murderer's doing. Guilt is eating Jungjae away because he didn't stop her. That night she died. Her skeleton had a lot of broken bones.
Her case must be connected to the construction owner and congresswoman. I feel like Joowon's father knows the truth too.
They are desperately trying to hide something. And not only those three. Some people from the police station are involved too.
Nam Sangbae was manipulated and used as well, I think. Then they got rid of him. He was clearly going to record the conversation and shoot the person he was going to meet.
Unfortunately, Joowon couldn't save him. The witness once again is gone. That scene was so heartbreaking. Hopefully, JW & DS now will fight together to find out what happened 21 years ago.

P.s The way Dongsik had flashbacks of his previous partner dying, and asked JW to be careful, then called for help. This time he wouldn't survive losing another person.
These 10 episodes have been such an emotional rollercoaster. This drama is just splendid.

The Last scene was just so touching. I can't explain how tragic and hopeful that moment was. Tragic because Dongsik lost someone he cherished for years despite everything, and hopeful because he gained one person he can rely on - Han Joowon.

P.s From episode 1 till episode 9 HJW changed so much. Even his gestures changed, feels like he is becoming more daring. More eager to know the truth. I freaking loved how he acted in front of his father.
Once again, Yeo Jingoo was a perfect match for this role. He is great.

So basically what Kang Jinmook meant with "I returned her to you" was that he buried her into a wall. Every day Dongsik went to that room and knew nothing about it.
The land where bodies were found was owned by Jungjae's mother previously and then it got bought by LCJ. There was a deer banner too. I feel like the congresswoman knows something. Also, Jungjae said that's the place where he and DS hung out a lot in past.
I don't know if I shall believe that Nam Sangbae ended JM or was it someone else, though I suspected him. But I literally went "WHAT THE HELL" with the last scene.

Damn, I was so happy when I saw JW going into Manyang police station again. Even their reunion was in the same condition. The only thing different is that those ajummas now were in trouble & JW had a rather warm smile while entering the place. But the tension between DS& him never dies. It's so interesting how this will end.
I felt so many emotions while watching this episode, I am still excited. I can't wait to see more.

I am speechless. The ending gave me literal goosebumps. I believe he has everything calculated. He never does something that doesn't have meaning behind."Beyond evil" gives me so much thrill. What a masterpiece really.

I was thinking about that scene too. Maybe it implied that a pray can become predator too (if put in danger) and just when BR was put in danger something "clicked" in his head too.

They are the same houses for sure. flowers + damage on the walls is the same shape on the same place + on the white wall before a wall of bricks starts there are sunflowers painted as well

Agreed. They must have good story development or otherwise, things can get ruined real fast.
I mean I won't complain even if JBR isn't a killer but at least I hope they won't eliminate the possibility of him being a psychopath. I have seen this "oh ML isn't a psychopath he just got misdiagnosed and was raised up that way" plot too much, I hope they won't repeat that here as well.

Can't say for sure but I guess they might be assuming that because of JBR's drastic change in behavior. But that can be caused because his head got freaking hammered. I don't think he got any brain transplant. idk where that thought came from
