Okay know what? Ive decided not to watch this after all. The original is too close to my heart and the comfort…
poor child that considers difficult a drama... grow up child if you can't stand anxiety and depression, that's how adult life work, not fairytales and comedy.
Perhaps you should try the more serious Chinese ones! There's many... Reset, Northward, Derailment... You might…
To each its own, the only important thing is not watching to criticise. I don't watch kdramas anymore because i hate comedy, fairytales and unseriousnees. I need content, i am not satisfied with supposedly handome men only.
Funny enough when I Watch My Mister being announced and promoted didn’t catch my attention at all. But I watched…
IU was only appearance, because the gloomy attitude is cast aside with comedy. Zhang Zhifeng sticks more than her, and I say it as a IU fan too. Watch both and this is the best solution. The plot is perfect, the execution in the original is questionable
As always, I am analysing each episode pointing at those important frames, dialogues, scene which are meaningful to properly learn what the drama conveys as a message, comparing to the original. Ep 19. Immediately something to highlight. "If someone hurt my family, I would do the same". It goes both ways. Jiang Jiaqi is backing Yu'an because he already knows about her past, but at the same time it relates to Chen too. Of course his way of dealing with the matter is wrong, but in any case his father d**ed because of her. Yu'an acted because of personal defense and she only is at right here, but the situation should not be judged in a biased way. Even if his father was a bad person, he was always his father. The whole point should be read in two different ways to resonate and be more understandable, without justifying Chen's actions. That's why this remake is dealing way better than the original in terms of depicting the situation, introspection and feelings. It makes you questioning life throughout the episode, it makes you think about yourself and your own life, it resonates more not for adolescents but for adults or young adults. The desperate cry Yu'an released after hearing his words is life fresh air. It's a powerful and meaningful cry, because in real life too many people judge in a coldly way, without empathy. She was considered cold, a criminal, because "she killed someone". Of course, the fact stands and it can't be changed, but Jiang Jiaqi and the worker at Sen'An understood her. Even Gu Chen said " it was defense" but it stopped, still judging her, and she knows by the way she looks at him later. details matter, and this is the case. I like how the wife is trying to make up for her mistake, even trying to "help" him as much as she can. She has quite understood the man Jiaqi is. BUT she deserves to suffer. Jiaqi's decision to fight is not for power, like Gu Chen, but for his stability and for what he believes it's right. This shows again another side of both rivals and why Jiaqi is able to catch everyone's attention. Gu Chen misunderstood his attitude for arrogance and overconfidence, but through Jiaqi's sentence, when Gu Chen smirks and avoids the sight, he is quite projecting his accusation to Jiaqi to himself. And he is starting only to grasp it thanks to Yijun's words in their confrontation. Episode 20. Yu'An seeing Jiaqi and Yijun in the car points at something. In this remake it's more subtle that she is insecure and confused, she has never liked someone so she is trying to rationalise it since he is a married man. She uses the term "falling for" because he is the first one really caring for her, not out of simpathy. In the original it's quite more borderline, but in both he is the one more borderline, never questioned his status as a married man. I like both profiles though, even if it's more realistic to be confused because of her past rather than being at a limit. "If you want compete, do it with integrity". Jiaqi showing another difference with Gu Chen, and the Chairman clearly knows who is the better fit for the company. This remakes is highly pointing at Jiaqi's moral integrity both as a man as at work. And Jiaqi's reaction to hearing Yijun's conversation with Gu Chen is perfect, he tries to stay calm but his eyes, struggling facial expression show everything.
For those debating to watch or not to watch, this is my perspective/angle (different)......A remake/cover of any…
I like the original drama because the plot is worth watching, I would always suggest it with this remake. The plot is the same of course, this means making a remake, but this remake is superior to the original in terms of conveying the message and relying on introspection and depth. Cutting the anticlimatic scene of the original and changing in the way the scenes are events in normal real life, the depth of the whole plot is preserved, it's not a changing rollercoaster of moods wavering. It's more balanced. But i would always suggest to watch both, to compare is always healthy
people avoiding it are only petty that this remake is overshadowing the remake because it's way far superior in…
it's not subjective since you yourself are too petty even to try, dear. This remake are already overcome the original, it's a fact korean obsessed people need to understand.
Okay know what? Ive decided not to watch this after all. The original is too close to my heart and the comfort…
bad and petty decision, but it's up to you. I disagree with you because I was able to watch the only one historical drama i am passionate with, fond of, in every remake and analyse properly. The original can stand, but it's more openminded to compare. I bet you can find the same feelings of the original or even deeper, but it's up to you. I respect your decision even if I find it petty and immature.
An interesting take since I had a different opinion on Gu Chen. IMO he comes off more as a sociopath in this version…
The wife is a scu***ag, but I can understand her more in this remake that the cold woman in the original. It's subtle clear she is a lovely woman but she is strong and independent, successful, and she wants the standars she thinks she deserves. When the ML prefers calm and stability, she can't understand him at all and they clash. She is aware of it even more with time passes. I agree she acted badly because she does not excuse the cheating, but it's more relatable and understandable as a woman

I love serious things, i hate comedy and fairytales. That's why I only watch cdramas. they are more realistic, serious even with the comedy genre. realistic. I hate forced happy ending and China never does it. If a drama is made to destroy you, I want to be destroyed, not a forced happy and unrealistic ending.
Perhaps you should try the more serious Chinese ones! There's many... Reset, Northward, Derailment... You might…
I HATE comedy. That's why kdramas are shallow and bad, before like now. They are too unserious I can't take them seriously. And more, they allow p*rn which disgust me. They have always been the worst with unworthy success. China has no fantasy, wuxia and fantasy are considered historical in China because they are based on Daoism ideals.
An interesting take since I had a different opinion on Gu Chen. IMO he comes off more as a sociopath in this version…
Agree with this point. In the kdrama he is fool and unserious, he loves her but he is too much of a playboy. Here he seens Yijun as a trophy. The remake points out as his nature as someone wanting to climb in society but still intelligent, in the kdrama he has no intelligence...
As always, I am analysing each episode pointing at those important frames, dialogues, scene which are meaningful to properly learn what the drama conveys as a message, comparing to the original. Episodee 17. I want to highlight two important things representing the inner core of the two rival male characters. At the meeting board, Gu Chen is moving his hand tapping on the desk, looking before crossing his arms. A sign of intelligence, confirmed while he nods some seconds later: he is predicting in that moment the plan won't go smoothly. When Jiang Jiaqi is selected, he is late to put a light smile, stopping just a second after. He remembers the fight is still ongoing, this show a more calm attitude compare to Gu Chen. In the original, the contrast is superficial ( a playboy and a faithful man), the remake deepens to every possible extent this rivalry not only limited at the workplace or "love rivals". Those are important things in the episode and in the whole plot to notice. Gu Chen likes to manipulate at a psychological level, he is more than a simple playboy. I like that in the remake he has his own depth, not to justify him but for making him more real and not monodimensional. His envy is better shown here. Yijun is understanding how she probably ruined quite everything. Brother's romance show something people always forget: words are like a blade, they can hurt. Taking responsibility is what every man should always do. The actress incarnates another side of the message of the series: even if you fall, you can stand up again without giving up. Tons of characters are fighting in their own way, starting from Chen which is the most controversial and Zhang Xincheng has added depth. He is not a bully in a pure sense, but he is torn between feelings of caring and hatred. I love how each episode highlights depth. This drama is intense and depressed as it should be. Episode 18. I want to point out something. When the scene focuses on the female coworker being at the desk, in the background there is part of the set of "Empresses in the Palace" characters released in China in 2023 ( very famous and featuring in "Everyone loves me" drama too). The drama was a huge hit in 2012 and still one of the most famous in China, particularly among young women. I want to highlight the first time Yijun dares to make it clear to Jiaqi that they can't understand each other at all, he is still wavering but she opened her heart to him. Chen is more physical threatening than Gu Chen, but he is more obsessed in a very negative way, divided between past and present at different degrees. The brief dialogue at Galaxy Tavern s something adults can relate to. "There is no love, thats' why we are cold, we don't care about others, we don't care about ourselves. We keep living like this". When you are young, too young, you want to be an adult legally thinking " I can do what I want". But the more you age, the more you discovers that being adult is being able to choose between what to do and not to do, taking aside what we want. Life is a compromise made of difficult roads in which we struggle and bleed, but always keep going on. Yijun is great in this episode, and the gloomy atmosfere of Chongqing at night adds the feelings of remorse and sadness she has. The little glimpse of light from the windows does not shine on her so much because she know her guilt. Perfectly realised on screen. The fighting between Jiaqi and Chen shows the difference between being stable and morally perfect, and being a fool. Chen is totally cr**zy at this point, even with some questionable feelings trasformed into gross rationality. I like how som tips in each episode can be a deeper understanding, since this is exactly Jiang Jiaqi and Chu Tong represent about Zhiyuan.
Perhaps you should try the more serious Chinese ones! There's many... Reset, Northward, Derailment... You might…
not that bad? i vomited watching crash landing on you... secretary kim.. business proposal... my mister made me laugh hard... too many flaws for a single work.
