Ruyi is my second fav Qing dinasty drama just after Scarlet Heart. I understand your point, but the point here is that Zhang Xiao slowly become a real Qing dinasty woman. She does not consider cheating about the 8th Prince because he has urequited love for Ruolan, it's like a marriage for interests. She tries to save him knowing the events in the future, she doesn't compromise. I don't know where you are at now, but if you remember how her words about equality will be remembered, later you will see how she herself will change. 4th Prince is quite interested because at the beginning she is naive to care for him. In the novel she says " there are 2 people i have to keep attention in order not to make them angry: Kangxi and 4th Prince". With 14th Prince is more like fighting but caring, they don't have each other but the don't go well with each other at the beginning. You will see later. It's everything related to Zhang Xiao's perception as Maertai Ruoxi, from a still modern woman to a Qing one.
Watched it raw version while waiting for someone to sub it. As a Shinsengumi hardcore fan, I am satisfied in the realistic description and quite follow the manga closely. It hurts knowing what will happen, and already happened, since the very beginning. I'm glad they respected the historical dated very closely, even though it's even more heartbreaking. I hope some fansubs can take it and sub it, because shinsengumi deserve even more recognition. Can't wait for the series now

wow such an ignorance. A drama is successful when the rating is high and fans are dying to buy everything official, it's all about money dear. This cringe trash failure will always be a flop when fans watch it illegally and it took 9 years to have it internationally and in a few languages. fans do not matter if they don't spend on the drama. Chinese original Scarlet Heart was so impactful that its rating was over the moon in less than 1h, and it gains more than moon lovers had ever gained. And you are shamelessly defending a drama in which the actor for the king was s rap****st and the one for 14th prince was a bully, this says a lot about the kind of person you are.
