I think the problem with early stage HeYu is that shy love is almost always in the details but Yin Tao isn’t…
Omg yes. "The details only come on rewatch." The first or even the second time, sure, you'll feel that SCH and BHH will most likely go somewhere but you're not going to appreciate the nuances until much later. That's not what we're supposed to focus on anyway. For any pairings. Not even MYM & LYT (although they are the more obvious pairing). And that's most likely because in later episodes there were actual scenes spent to make us invest in SMY & BHH a little more, and then it's only after these scenes that you're more invested. If you go searching for obvious signs or anything remotely SMY feelings toward BHH you won't see that until Ep 16 after they're in Na'an.
Only good thing is Background music and Blood of youth old actors and bow guy and Second male lead also ok.It…
The music for BR really complemented the scenes. When I watch the highlights on YT they don't have the music (copyright? but that doesn't make sense because isn't it Youku's?) and I close the video so fast.
Romance in this drama is not a focus and the relationship between SMY and BHH is slow burned and develops throughout…
Yes SMY & BHH is not love at first sight. Even for BHH even though she likes him at first sight lol she's into him for his looks lol. He doesnt grow feelings for her until Ep 8-9 and even then!! he's so "hardened" that it's not obvious that he likes her until Ep 31!!! :) I felt the same way as you and then I came around.
Honestly I just skip their so called “couple” parts. Snoozefest. Chemistry does not have to be over the top…
SMY can't have oozing romantic vibes lol, he's SMY. And especially during the first 1-10 episodes. But I promise you he will w BHH. The first 10 episodes he is a wooden fish because the arc requires him to be a serious, boring character. But after 10, he and BHH have a lot of cute scenes
This is so good as a standalone! I, too, don't plan to watch TBOY, DY or finish the anime whenever it does eventually finish. I will pretend the only world that exists is BR.
Wow, you must have spent a while typing! It was an interesting read :)I also want to point out, since I keep seeing…
I wholeheartedly agree. GJ portrayal of SMY in episodes 1-10 is 8 or 9 out of 10. He is a "wooden fish" and is "stiff" not because of lack of acting skills but because it is a character trait. Thus GJ did a great job portraying SMY in Ep 1-10.
In this particular portrayal GJ did well. Specifically his micro expressions. The one thing he'll need to still work on is lines delivery and diction.
They casted GJ and it paid off. I also see what you're saying about filming out of order which is even more impressive for all the actors and actresses. I guess what I was trying to articulate is that whether it is filmed out of order or not, I was trying to get the reader to be patient and to see GJ portray a wider range of expressions as they'll need to get passed Ep 10, which coincidentally is also when a different arc begins.

Also what's "nop?" 😫
