Isn't My Best Summer a romcom or romance like that? I haven't watched it. But no, he won't be like an idol here. The only time he looks pretty probably the first day of recruitment of the gold panner (the one in the GIF). After that he's just look tired, sunburned/tanned, and dirty, like normally people who work in the mining.

Yeah, I agree with you. Since I watch many C-dramas, many of them have side stories that can be enjoyable or boring/filler. Since this one is only 12 episodes with total of 9 hours. The focus will be the ML search for his brother.

If you like crime/suspense/thriller dramas, give Light On Series a try. They're short, usually 12 episodes. This one, The Bad Kids, and The Long Night, all in the same series and 12 episodes. Since it's pretty suspenseful, you probably will watch it in one go.

I know, right? I like romcoms but I can switch mode (not mood, lol) to Dark Mode if the story is good... I think people don't like it cos they expect Chen Fei Yu in a romantic mode or idealistic adventurous mode (like Ever Night). This is probably more like horrorish?

It's different because the setting is not in the city, so it's not like a crime drama. More like... a wild west, western drama the Chinese way? I don't know, lol. It's more like a survival story.

I don't watch Who is the Murderer, I heard people complained about it. But before I watched this one, I actually read the comments and people liked it, so I gave it a try.

I think it's because it's not for everyone. It's quite dark, gruesome, but no gore, because it's a Chinese drama.

Yeah, I think I read that this translator read the previous one and felt it was not translated right, so she translated again. For me it's like reading an English novel, lol. I mean the translator did a great job like she was the author.

To avoid missing hidden gems, I learned only watching her regular videos about news, like what's airing, filming, wrapping, etc. Not specific first impressions or reviews. After reading MDL comments/reviews to avoid sad endings and stuff like that.I give every drama a chance to watch the first and the last episode, and kinda believe my own judgment in watching a drama, based on my mode ;D
