Cho Na

if it's a slight romance, they won't tag it cos it's not the focus of the story ;D

Yeah, some crime dramas are not 100% free of romance, though there is no romance genre in it. I think isn't what draws female audience? I saw the 'slight romance' tag in it. 30 minutes of 16x60 minutes shows? Yeah that's only like 3% romance of the entire show ;D

I dropped Legend of Fei. I think is more like a fan service, with two popular people in it. It must've cost a lot to cast WYB and ZLY together, so imo the company sacrificed the production cost (costume, CGI, setting cinematography, etc) to make it cheaper just to pay those two, hahaha!

I believe that Being a Hero will be good, unless NRTA messed up with the story. I read sometime ago that the director was not happy when he heard WYB was chosen by the producers as Chen Yu. The director is an award winning veteran director, so he regards quality of acting/actor. He thought WYB is one of those idol actors that got roles from popularity and looks, a traffic star. So I read that WYB worked hard for the role and the director was impressed with his work.

Are you watching Luoyang? WYB is in it.

Wow, from your list I think I only watched Kairos, dropped Memories of Alhambra, and is Liar Game the K or J drama? I agree with you on the romance part. I think I rather watch comedy+crime than romance+crime or I rather watch pure romance. Like you, I also started watching Asian dramas with tons of romcoms and romance, though started only in the mid of 2019. Unlike you, though, I jumped quickly to Cdramas instead of Kdramas. I noticed with romantic Cdramas, the plots are super predictable. Heck, I can fall asleep during the whole episode and still understand what happens to the plot, lol! I think the production companies tend play safe and make romantic dramas similar to the old ones that have been successful or passed censorship. They don't dare to try new things or mix romance with mystery, crime, supernatural, horror too much, or the drama will take a long time to be released or even never ;D

You're welcome! Yeah, I agree with you. I noticed that many times the mix between crime and romance if it's not done right, the plot becomes messy. It's like the mix is intended more as a fan service, knowing that most drama watchers are female. That's why I separate the sections this way. I;m glad it helps!

I know, right? I didn't know either about Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys. I think there is one story when ND and HB team up together in a mystery case, and at that time I still didn't put together that they're related, lol. I thought the authors were always Carolyn Keene and Franklin W. Dixon cos those two names are always printed on the book covers. So the creator (not author) is the same person, who created the characters. However, the authors of the stories are actually different people, ghost writers, who are under the same pen names of Keene and Dixon. We were little way back then, we didn't know these kinda behind-the-scene stuff, nor did we care cos all we want is reading about the mysteries, lol.

I will watch Xiao Zhan in anything: war, military, politics, communist propaganda, tragedy, horror, etc etc

since there are both tags, is the rape scene explicit?

Oh... it's in the Forum Discussion section, lol. No wonder I didn't see it! I think last time I was looking for it in the drama comment section. Tysm for pointing it out! Now it's a matter of when will I have time to watch it... huhuhu.

Yeah, me too if I know there is a deleted scene, extra scene, after credit scene, or whatever scene that indicates a drama/movie ends HE I will watch it.

I'm also looking forward to Being a Hero... wait... I just checked the drama page. It will air in 2nd January???

Thank you, and I hope it's useful for you looking for crime/investigation dramas/movies ;D

Yeah, there is no crime genre at this moment in the tag list, that's why it didn't come up in the result. However, if you click on "Investigation KDramas with Comedy" under the "investigation Kdramas" it will show up. Try it ;D

You're welcome! I'm glad it's useful for you to look for crime dramas/movies

in the tag: sexual content? rape?

It's my Christmas gift to you ❤️

どういたしまして ;D

Thanks for the recommendation. I didn't miss out the Taiwanese Danger Zone series. Unfortunately, both prequel and sequel don't have crime genre on their tags so they're not showcased in the Taiwanese crime drama section. However, if you click on the blue box with title "Investigation TwDramas (Overall)" on the right below the country "Taiwan", the result includes both Danger Zone Chapter 1: The Dark Night and Danger Zone Season 2: The Silver Lining. Try it ;D

Is the alternative ending for Killer and Healer just a written version from the scriptwriter, or is it actually a scene? Cos when it was airing I wanted to watch it so I put it in my PTW list to binge later when it's done subbing. Then I read about the SE. As I can't stand an ending like that I don't watch it. I read there is an alternative ending which is a HE, but only in a written form, not actually I cut scene. They did that to avoid NRTA censorship, right?

I just realized when I looked at the movie page again, it's an under-the-radar movie with 60+ watchers. Did you watch it? Is it good? I don't watch the American version.

Yeah, me too, I don't like to re-watch anything cos there are still too many dramas/movies to watch ;D

Yes, it's too bad indeed I cannot put older dramas/movies before 2010 or below 8.0 rating. I had to put a limit or the article would be super long and won't be enjoyable to read anymore. And the editors would've sent it back for me to revise ;D.

If you're passionate about your favorite crime movies made pre 2010, perhaps you would want to write an article about it. Sometimes older shows are made very well for the sake of cinematic artistry, not for fan service or profit oriented ;D
