I have noticed the drama cut some unimportant plots of the novel but keeps the excellent scenes. It's very good! CSS's brothers come to support her which is very warm (same as the novel).
Her nice aunt-in-law also appears now, she will make up the love CSS needs in the future. She is the actress in 'Ashes of Love' (the leader of Flowers World) . Her husband is our best elder brother in 'Who rules the world', so warm to see him again! A perfect couple in the novel. I'm happy with the casting!

In the novel, CSS is a modern girl so she don't know this character and thinks it means bird.
She also has another two brothers, they all love her as a sister. They give her family warmth. If you mean her cousin is the girl appears in the drama, she is kind so far as I haven't finished reading the novel yet, I don't know what will happen in the later stage.

True. A lot of the world's classical novels have annoying plots, the author wrote them coz they are essential. And I had to read them very detailed in my student period coz they will appear in the exams ~😂
Just completed the first 4 episodes. They explained the family background and the FL's growth story. Lusi's acting is so impressive. CSS is really a poor girl . It's not like any of Lusi's previous happy and funny characters, but Lusi did a good job! Let's look forward to tomorrow's romance episodes. The more she is poor now, the better she will gain in the future and surprise everyone~
I highly recommend 'Secret of the Three Kingdoms', the author is also Ma Boyong. But I recommend the first half of the drama (about Ep 25), because the first half is based on the novel, and the second half is written by the scriptwriter which is not very exciting.
The acting and chemistry of the male and female leads are amazing. It talks about how the fake emperor(the male lead) tries to change the original historical path and gain happiness with the empress(the female lead) in the end. So, It's a happy ending. ❤
The emperor in that drama is the last emperor of Han Dynasty. That's why the clothes are the same style. The Three Kingdoms period follows the Han Dynasty.
Because this drama is based on the oldest dynasty and is rarely used in dramas. But i think its pretty good.
The pattern is --- A lot of Chinese novels' authors usually choose a real dynasty background, (they use the dynasty's protocols, hairstyles, clothing, empire structure, social rules, titles, slang...in the novel), but they will say it's a fictional dynasty, to avoid readers mix the fictional characters and events in the drama with the real history.
