I think Channel 3 using brownface as a plot device is disgusting. Especially knowing they'd never cast a dark skin woman in a lead role. And then to make the lead actress act like a clown in brownface for laughs. And if you look at roster for channel 3 https://kisskh.at/list/732B2nY3
almost 30% of the actors are half white. that doesn't represent the population at all. Where are the southeast asian people? where are the non-white halfs? its not diversity nor does it accurately represent Thailand.
They erase ethnic tan thai people from tv. When they are rarely given the chance to appear in dramas, tan thais who are mostly of SEA descent are typecasted in clown roles where as thai chinese and half white get a variety of lead roles. So the light skin thais and half whites don't get that same stigma of being seen in a negative light. Please don't support this channel. They are erasing us and making fun of us.

Mocking dark skin is not okay. The actress in that pic should know better and so should this channel. Its a minstrel show yet again portraying the "hey its bad to be dark skin" trope and "dark skin only being used for people to LAUGH at" trope. I'm sure people with dark skin would rather be erased from representation than being mocked on tv in such a manner.
If it continues to be this terrible I don't know if I can make myself watch it even for Boat, whose acting continues…
Gun's acting is probably passable for a support role, but it may have been a risk to cast him in lead. Well see where this goes.

this drama was fun to watch but some things like transphobia and colorism made it hard to completely enjoy it....
southeast asians and chinese people (especially from Singapore and Malaysia) are corrupted with anti-black values judging by the positive reception in the comments. Dark skin thais are either defined/typecasted by clown roles or erased all together in Thai media. Its sad no one cares to advocate for the dark skin thai people. they deserve better.

its going to be hard to pull of a story about a short effeminate nerd when they didn't actually cast one. Thai BLs these days rarely hire leads who look like that, so them making a live action of Manga that follows the Traditional Yaoi format is not a good fit for todays standards.
