the minute you cast a mixed (non asian) person in a historical drama, is the minute you make it unbelievable. The lead actress does not fit the role. point blank period.

I can think of ugly era in history where mixed people were prevalent and it was during slavery where they were birthed from raped (by the slave masters) and made to be house slaves. Or when the white people came to colonized Indonesia and Philippines for a long time. Go make movies about that and cast them there.

The casting is historical inaccuracy. There were no white people in Thailand in the old era. Its like casting a European or Mexican in the role for Martin Luther King (which requires a REAL AFRICAN person).

yes it is (as explained in my last posts). Thailand borders Laos, China, Myanmar, and Cambodia. There were no planes from Europe to Asia in archaic times. So everyone in Thailand was basically asian back then. the casting is totally not believable unless they were making parody of thai history!

And the gag is, its the Thai chinese who are pushing these toxic colorist tropes on thai tv because they own all of the wealth. When one of the sponsors of the show is a skin lightening product and they hire a half white person in the lead, i already know what they are trying to do to people. Making people hate what they look like makes money.
