What’s wrong with casting a “half white chick”? There’s nothing wrong with that. Mai divika did a great…
I despise Anti blackness in the asian community, not white people. People like you spin a narrative as if i'm the one thats in the wrong when all i do is highlight historical inaccuracy just cause they wanted a colorist casting choice. You want to have a mixed lead, at least make it make sense with the times and era, but you don't want to see the valid point i'm trying to make cause twisting anything to help pro colorist and pro eurocentric casting is your agenda.
Mydramalist is full of antiblack women and that is pretty sad.
It has to do with people who are poorer working out in the sun- So its not making her uglier but more like class…
"naturally lighter skin than the indigenous Thais from the countryside."
there are people who are ethnic natives like me who have light skin. What are you even talking about??? i'm even lighter than some Thai chinese. really, stop pushing colorist tropes.

which is a trope that has to disappear. People who are dark are no more uneducated than the white people i see struggling in america. Dark skin people are not solely your maids, they represent all aspects of society just like those with pale skin. Please stop defending colorism.

" I wouldn’t even be mad about a half black person playing as the lead role."
which would make you stuck on stupid. Were there black people in thailand back then too?
the minute you cast a mixed (non asian) person in a historical drama, is the minute you make it unbelievable. The lead actress does not fit the role. point blank period.
I can think of ugly era in history where mixed people were prevalent and it was during slavery where they were birthed from raped (by the slave masters) and made to be house slaves. Or when the white people came to colonized Indonesia and Philippines for a long time. Go make movies about that and cast them there.

" If you’re that bother then go talk to them, It isn’t even historical inaccuracy just because they chose a half white actress."
delusional. Just say you worship white people and stop talking. You're not saying anything smart.
The casting is historical inaccuracy. There were no white people in Thailand in the old era. Its like casting a European or Mexican in the role for Martin Luther King (which requires a REAL AFRICAN person).

"Just because the actress is half white doesn’t mean it’s historical inaccuracy."
yes it is (as explained in my last posts). Thailand borders Laos, China, Myanmar, and Cambodia. There were no planes from Europe to Asia in archaic times. So everyone in Thailand was basically asian back then. the casting is totally not believable unless they were making parody of thai history!
Funny how you had to make a new account just to harass me.
"they chose Mai davika because they saw potential in her"

stop being obtuse about a HISTORICAL INACCURACY being made just because Thailand's casting wanted to promote a eurocentric image instead. Most people were not mixed with european in thailand back in the historic times. They might have had some chinese but 99% of the Thai people had a Asian look Pre-20th century times. Why not cast someone who actually looks the part?
also stop insinuating that there is something wrong with complaining about half white over representation in the media. People like you try to spin the narrative into a "discrimination issue" against half whites when in reality its about a unhealthy beauty standard that comes from self hate and white worship.
If we start watching or not watching shows because of 'politics'... Should we boycott american show because they…
you're playing the "what aboutism" game to deflect chinese celebs from criticism. (which is something chinese people normally do). so i knew a statement like yours was coming
you needed to find a way to horribly justify your reason for stanning Wang Yibo who supports Uighur slavery. Supporting modern day slavery should never be justified. Its evil. Those without a conscious will get their karma.
No matter where he will go, I really wish him all the best success and one day I really want to see him playing…
low chance. Hes been in so many supporting roles while other actors who have started in supporting role have been able to get a lead role waaaay sooner. Seems like it would never happen for him at this point. It sucks that Thai sponsors discriminate against a certain look (maybe having to do with his skintone or even his features)
a "historical" drama but they cast a half white chick. There were barely any half whites back then in the old era. I swear Thailand needs to get it together with their casting choices. I get that they worship half white people but this drama obviously is not a fit to cast them in.
it's the way this show has blackface in it and people are choosing to ignore it.
A lot people in Southeast asia are antiblack and basically look the other way when drama's like this happen. Its the same with Rape and sexual harrassment. As long as their fantasies aren't being "ruined", they will be complicit.
Wow did one of the show's staff create Daisyree Trixia De Guzma just to make a review???? She literally just joined the site in order to post that undeserved 9.0 review. HILARIOUS.
Yet, this show is rife with Western centric colonial supremacist themes-we do not have to wonder why.
you're strawmanning the blackface argument even though i didn't mention it once in my comment just so you can derail the conversation and still normalize dark discrimination in the end. Racist chinese people and their hate for dark skin i swear....
you already strawmanned THE SAME WAY earlier with your other account. Don't be shy. You don't have to log in another account to spread more BS. Stop strawmanning and arguing against points that i am not making. It makes you look like you're purposely being OBTUSE. Kay thanks.
Yeah, I already requested that to the admins (to remove that tag "blackface"). It may sound disgusting to others,…
Should we add a tag to make sure they state its making fun of dark skin natives from Issan and Southern Thailand?? And that the show sends a message that all they are good for is making people LAUGH AT THEM and CLEANING THE HOUSE???
And the gag is, its the Thai chinese who are pushing these toxic colorist tropes on thai tv because they own all of the wealth. When one of the sponsors of the show is a skin lightening product and they hire a half white person in the lead, i already know what they are trying to do to people. Making people hate what they look like makes money.

Are you by chance a chinese malaysian/singaporean??? I really want to know.

Bet you wouldn't even cape the same if it was a half black person playing lead role in a historical asian drama. Asian women and their colorism smh.
Racist asians don't bend history and reality for a half black person but they will for a white one.
