The situation reminds me of sex worker who offer the full boyfriend /girlfriend experience. Client knew what they were getting into but choose to forget. ("I can make them love only me.") Sex worker cuts the client off when they start making unreasonable demands (e.g. monogamy). The client cries a lot, gets angry/abusive, and starts stalking. Who's at fault?
Ritsu's a prick, but when he's good, he's really sweet because honestly, eff Matsumi's mom.
Ritsu has been consistent, and consistently good actually. He's a free spirit. What's wrong with that? Masumi, on the other hand, is emotionally stunted (because of his eff'd up parents, I guess, so not his fault).
I hate how this story is developing :/ Punching is an understatement, I feel like beating the shit outta the seme.…
Wasn't Masumi being delusional, selfish and crazy obsessive back then? He even admitted that to himself in the narration. Ritsu did Masumi a favor by not reporting him to the police for stalking.
I despise Ritsu, but I have to admit in this ep. he did great with Masumi making him feel less guilty for not…
Also, the way Ritsu forced Masumi to confront his true feelings about his mother, saving Masumi from wasting the rest of his life on his toxic, manipulative mother. That also was an act of generosity.

Yes! And if I had to choose between faith in Shulin or faith in the fake emperor (who might already have been killed in battle for all they knew), I'd focus on (1) helping Shulin take out the empress (2) talking him out of doing any unnecessary homicide and then (3) dealing with the political fallout.
Lan Jue and his chemistry with Shulin was off charts and so mesmerizing. The look of betrayal on Shulin's face…
I think they would have gone along with Shulin's plan if it wasn't so homicidal. I kinda liked the plan except for that part of it. That society needed a revolution!
OK, so Masumi has been sabotaging his whole life because of a misunderstanding he had 10+ years ago?!? This boy needs to get over himself. And what's up with these Asian dramas where, it seems, therapy is completely unknown?

I'm not convinced social and cultural norms are the same for everyone as you suggested. Monogamy may be idealized for some gay men, especially in the beginning of relationships, but even so it's often experienced as temporary, not static. Seems there's way too much heteronormativity in these comments.

I like your take. But why do you (and others here) think that Ritsu "cheated"? It would be cheating only if there was an agreement to be monogamous. There definitely wasn't an explicit agreement between them. Masumi assumed too much based on desire, self-entitlement, and a self-serving delusion. Why would Ritsu indulge that and compromise his independence and happiness? Better to cut Masumi off.
I just finished ep 2, then remembered your question. Yes, I agree. This show seems to have a lot to say about gender, sexuality, fluidity and adaptability. I'll keep watching.
I thought your comment was 21 hours ago,. Now I see it was 21 days! 😆 (Why so few comments here?) Oh well, maybe someone else will want to know this before starting like I did.
I really enjoyed episode 4, I mean nothing really important happened but I loved Art and Golf's bonding scenes.…
Golf has a lot of issues, but he isn't dumb. I'd say he's goofy. And isn't Art the naive country bumpkin? Seems like Golf has to explain basic things to Art occasionally.

The FL told her friend early in the episode that men weren't attracted to her because of her small appetite. Maybe later episodes will make this make sense somehow.

The handsome guy in her office had zero interest in her. Then he watched her as she was engrossed in eating a lot of food, and suddenly he's in love. How is eating a lot the only way to become an object of men's desire?
Please help me understand the basic premise of the show. Women who have big appetites can attract men, and women like FL cannot. Huh? Is watching people eat a lot of food (mukbang watching) a very common fetish in Japan?

this before starting like I did.
