Actually a lot of such people exist in the real world where they can't think rationally and make bad arguments and are set in their ways. So even though he's annoying, I don't think he will be the villain because of the backstory and his connection with the male lead. The villain is the emperor who hasn't shown to have any redeeming qualities.

But their misunderstanding has to be resolved in order to clear Nan Heng's name. Whether they reconcile or not is a different matter. Though I get Chu Guihong's anger. It's because he really blames him for everything and is willing to cross moral lines is why it makes for a great drama even if it is annoying.

Wow, it's getting exiting! I love how everyone showed up to save Shengguan He. But they ruined Nan Heng 's plan to get him out safely.

And now Nan Heng is going to reveal he was behind Li Shiliu to the stupid emperor. Insane stuff. I am hoping he wins over the king's court at least.

Also Yimeng running away leaving Nan Heng alone. Girl really?! If he has plot armour, so do you. Plus you'll just respawn. I guess at some point she might just die and do everything differently like the script originally intended. Just a prediction.

I don't know how Nan Heng is going to save Shangguan He. He has no one to help him. And in the next episode's preview, Song Yimeng finds out Li Shiliu is Nan Heng. This man cannot catch a break.

Song Yiting, what the hell was that?! This is obsession, not love. And she doesn't know anything about the person. Without a mask, she thought of him as a pervert. How is she a smart character? And what do her actions make her? She should be ashamed of herself!

They slowed the story. I really don't care what Song Yiting is upto. There was hardly any moments between the main leads. Also, why would she obsess over someone who has no interest in her? Seems more of that is coming.

I might have to put this drama on hold coz I want to get to the parts where Song Yimeng spends more time with Nan Heng and not as Li Shiliu. If he kisses her as Li Shiliu as the preview shows, then all the more she will hate Nan Heng and she will hate him when the truth is exposed.

The show is getting more serious and tragic now. 😥

Then he should have refused to marry the daughter of the enemy and continue to stay a monster living in hate till he dies or is killed. She certainly deserved a better life than being married to a man who is physically violent and untrusting. But she is supposed to drop her guard down?

Anyway, I'm done with this show now. Don't care to argue over it.

Real. I finished The Prisoner Of Beauty because it was so hard to wait for episodes. Now I don't know what else to watch. No matter what it is, I'll catch up eventually.

Love this drama. I wish I could binge in one go.

I couldn't stop laughing when everything made her think Li Shi Liu was gay. 😆 The misunderstanding made him expose his true feelings but she fell asleep. 😭

Episode 16 was great.

Wrong doings on others' part can't be called her personal failure. Considering she weilded no real power, she did very well. Every action of hers was monitored including her letters but she still managed to get her cousin to build a secret path which was discovered on accident. Her uncle was stupid so he got himself killed in his own house while she survived inside enemy territory. Her cousin was also silly to think she could live normally. When you start to gain power, you also need allies. She eventually let her husband become a puppet which led her to her death. Meanwhile FL finally got to see peace in the land and is thriving.

Even the ML was tricked and backstabbed and he even fell for people's plots including his own cousin. But he has insiders and allies and commands armies. He couldn't protect his territories from being invaded despite having so much power. The female did the best considering her circumstances and reaped the benefits as well. At least that's my perspective.
