I felt like I missed something between ep13 and ep14. Xiao Shuai is ok with Guo Cheng Yu that he let him in the house? He was avoiding him constantly till ep13 or pushing him away.

Nothing really has taken my interest. I completed A Dream Within A Dream which was really good. I saw another Chinese BL called A Sketchy Job but it's a low budget short series so don't expect much from it. It feels very unrealistic based on the development. The only one that has captured my attention right now is Revenged Love which I have even recommended to others. How about you?

The drama is pretty good. I'm just curious about WSW's character in the book.

I do appreciate a healthy discussion so thank you for that. I just want to clarify that I don't hate the series itself. I'm just critical of this one action because I have seen it played out in real life and how it affects people.
I have no issue with a series depicting problematic characters either. I just disliked it being turned into comedy.
Thanks again for your perspective as well. 💜

Title Revenged Love Spoiler
Aside from CC being a problematic character, we've all seen throughout the series that CC quits when WSW doesn't…
Firstly, thank you for trying to understand my point of view. That means a lot. I can't deny that CC's character has been making me feel uncomfortable even before this but it was the clinic scene that really made me take pause.
One of the reasons I have an issue is in real life many toxic people deny rape because they claim the men were seduced either because of a woman flirting, how she dressed, just for going over to the man's place, just for accepting a ride, just for being in a club, just for being out late at night, etc. They deny rape because a woman didn't verbally say no, didn't resist hard enough, etc etc. Besides that people mock male victims of rape.
So when I see a drama where a man is clearly resisting and telling his partner no but his partner is overpowering him, that sets off alarm bells in my head.
Was WSW wrong for trying to seduce CC? Most definitely. Was he wrong for lying? Of course. But it still doesn't mean he deserves to be forced.
I don't know if this is a BDSM couple or it is just CC who might be into BDSM. I haven't read the book so I didn't really make any presumption about them. But from what I understand about those that practice BDSM is they always have a safe word so that the other partner clearly understands when they have to stop versus when it is playing a role. From what was depicted, CC and WSW have not at all discussed their personal sexual preferences because WSW is still trying to accept himself and his sexuality just for being attracted to CC. So it makes sense that his fears or concerns lie beyond the act of sex. In this circumstance, it is natural for him to feel shame and even more so for being caught in the act. And CC forcing him before he has come to terms with his sexuality, is also terrible.
I am not sure what the drama age gap is like but if it is anything like their real life age gap and just based on CC's experience (not only with sex but also have been in a long-term relationship), CC should have been the one to take the lead into discussing WSW's insecurities. But they clearly do not know how to communicate with each other.
My take away is that this is a very unhealthy relationship and even abusive relationship even if WSW (nor CC) don't recognise it as such and it should be okay to call it that. In real life, many people put up with abuse because they don't know what a healthy relationship looks like. That is what I get from WSW.
Also, I don't deny that this show is entertaining. It is well made and I am happy this show exists and hopefully it is just the first of many for China.
I don't know how the rest of the drama will go but if they managed to tone down their character flaws from the book then I do hope they work on their communication as well because I would like to root for this pairing.
Apologies for the long message from my end as well or for being too repetitive. Hope you can understand why I am critical of CC's actions.

I've seen the post that said that the author of the original novel (Chai Ji Dan) now thinks of her novel as problematic,…
Yeah. I don't know why they are taking it so personal either. It is not like it's an attack on the actors but rather each person has their own line and where they draw it. I am not going to ignore my discomfort for appearances. We already have real problems in society because people don't understand consent. I don't have an issue with red flag characters being depicted. I have a problem with people making excuses and denying or minimising what is clearly horrible behaviour.

Makes sense if the drama version itself is making me feel uncomfortable. I was fighting with myself to not call him a red flag but I can't deny it anymore. 🥲

It does. It might actually get better, I don't know. I'm just too annoyed by the doctor's actions. I'll try to finish it at some point.
