Episode 25 is where things started picking up. And to the folks saying ML & FL don't have romantic chemistry, that's b/c FL didn't know how to respond to ML's flirting before. Things are different now.

Are you perhaps confusing investigating vs. arresting? Because yes, in general theory the "West" can't arrest you without sufficient evidence, but there is absolutely nothing preventing police in the "West" from investigating you. The investigation stage is where they gather evidence to decide whether to arrest you or not. I don't know which western country you are from but I'm from the US and anonymous reporting is a standard tool used by the police. There are circumstances where anonymity is required. It's supposed to protect the informant of real crimes not meant to be abused by someone reporting fake crimes. The issue here is not that the police investigated Yibo without checking their info but that someone abused a police resource to try to mar his reputation.

Personally, this whole drama is being carried by the ML & FL's chemistry. As of episode 20, I only care about their storyline, everything else is a distraction.
