In the early morning of the 27th December, YueHua Entertainment issued a long statement saying that Wang Yibo…
I don’t know if you are deliberately misinterpreting the facts or just got wrong info from a bad source...
First, Yibo wasn’t arrested. Cooperating with an active (at the time) investigation does not mean arrest. If someone made a complaint against you to the police they have an obligation to investigate. And police coming to your house to ask questions or you going to the police station to answer questions does not mean you are under arrest. The police were literally doing their jobs.
Second, for you to even insinuate this was some ploy to boost his own popularity... I have no words. It would be tremendously stupid not to say incredibly illegal since false police reporting is a crime. But when has Yibo ever sold his misery? When he was deliberately sabotaged in his race, he only took to Weibo to tell his fans to stand down. There was no woe is me sob story. Maybe you don’t know b/c you don’t follow him but he’s been plagued with stalkers and antis since The Untamed aired. A few months ago he blasted them on Weibo when they put his staff in danger. This is just the latest in a string of many and worryingly it’s been escalating.
And third, they should absolutely persecute the false accuser (though I am unsure if that will happen, she might get off Scott free b/c of the mental illness claim). How was she in Beijing able to pinpoint Yibo’s schedule in Hengdian? She didn’t act alone and YH needs to pursue this because he’s clearly being targeted by someone. Issuing official statements is clearly not enough to deter these people, YH needs to follow through with their threats of legal prosecution. I am seriously worried for his safety.
I hope everyone had low expectations going into this. If this was good it wouldn't have sat in post-production hell for 3 years. I'd say the production did the best they could with what they had. Yibo did not finish shooting this drama. The show had to shut down production in the middle of filming because its major sponsor pulled funding. By the time shooting restarted, Yibo was already filming another project so could not return. That is why some episodes had no Yibo at all even though he is the ML. And in later episodes its even more obvious they had to used his body double. Personally I'm just enjoying young Yibo in this youthful role (cause I have a feeling he won't be doing any youth dramas going forward), if that's not enough for you then don't waste your time.
Huh. I thought this was supposed to be a “fan” guide... why does this sound so dismissive of everything but The Untamed? Wang Yibo is more than just that one role he played for a few months.
Day Day Up’s beginnings may have coincided with the Olympics but the show was planned independently to highlight traditional Chinese culture. Although it’s marketed as a variety, I’d say it’s more educational than just fun & games. Yibo is not a volunteer firefighter... he is an honorary celebrity firefighter as a result of the episode of Day Day Up did on fire safety. He mainly does PSA announcements.
And I cannot stress enough the role Day Day Up has played to Yibo’s development. When he literally had nothing going on, the show always found ways to showcase him; either through dancing or his ability to pick up skills at the drop of a hat. The cast and crew provided him with such a supportive and loving environment, he still takes time out of his packed schedule to return to Changsha to record new episodes every week. He himself had said the show is like coming home where he can relax and enjoy the company of his geges.
Live for Real is a cellphone commercial.
As for your other “reviews”, while I understand we all have differing tastes, you pretty much trashed all his other works? How is that helpful to other fans who might be interested in watching those shows? As a fan guide, the reviews should be more objective and less about your gripes with the show(s).
His phone # was leaked on his birthday in 2019. Obviously he doesn’t have that number anymore! If you’d read up on the issue, you would have seen his Weibo post scolding those fans about how annoying it was for him to change phone numbers...
Like I appreciate the intention behind this but your research seems very surface level with info about a year out of date. Such as if you love his dancing, why was Street Dance of China 3 not mentioned here? Also missing is his love of skateboarding... thus One More Try.
