I’m only on episode 14 but out of all the dramas I tried recently; Word of Honor, My Heroic Husband and Rattan, this is the most engaging.

XiXi, on paper I really shouldn’t like this character at all. I can’t stand women centering their lives around their relationship. I especially hate it when women beg shitty men to stay. It’s a credit to Song Yi that I find XiXi cute instead of annoying. It’s really shitty that nobody around her had the decency to hell her Liu Ke was emotionally cheating. Like I hope my friends would always tell me my significant other was cheating no matter how painful it may be. And like she said, she would’ve gotten closure and over it much faster if she knew. Don’t get me started on Liu Ke, bastard didn’t even have to balls to tell XiXi the truth and just went MIA. That’s a horrible way to end a relationship. I wish him all the bad things.

Xiao Yang, why is she so desperate for attention and affection? Has this girl never had any friends before? She’s like overly invested in both “friendships” with Qi Yue and that manhua artist... Like when he said he was moving, she first offered to apartment hunt for him? And then invited herself over to clean is place???!!!! Man’s 40+ years old girly, did you not have a daddy growing up or what? That freaking walking in rain scene made me gag. I had to skip it. If they are trying to hookup a young 20 year old girl with a 40+ man... YIKES YIKES YIKES on that age gap and power imbalance since he’s her idol. I see I’m going to have that fast forward button ready for their scenes.

I like Ru Xue and Hui Qiao but am for some reason not overly invested in their storylines.

Please not RadiiChina. The way they write articles irk me... it comes off as backhanded compliments. And they often get details wrong. Like his Nike collaboration in the article you linked, that came BEFORE SDC3. Not to mention the other parts of that article is so annoying to read. Ugh. I just hate that clickbait website so much.

I'm only going to address how (poorly) 10c treated LOF, which boiled down to careless disregard. They didn't care about this production and it shows in the product. There was zero promo from 10c. WYB & ZLY appearing together on DDU and HC (which has nothing to do with 10c and everything to do with Hunan TV) and various award ceremonies where they themselves plugged LOF had nothing to do with 10c. The sheer number of advertisers for LOF was indicative 10c was using it as a money grab.

Regarding the TV run for LOF, a few months ago, it looked like it will air on Hunan TV but 10c raised the price too high and Hunan had to drop out of the bidding. Then it looked like Beijing TV was going to air it but that also came to nothing. I think from the beginning 10c never intended for LOF to do well nor do they want it to do well. Why? Because both WYB & ZLY do not have a contract with 10c and they don't see the value in promoting them. ZLY only became a spokesperson for the platform after LOF finished airing, WYB is already a spokesperson for Youku.

Many people might not know this but LOF was not originally a 10c drama. WYB signed onto the drama in May of 2019 but 10c only invested money after The Untamed blew up in August 2019. So this was never their baby, they just saw an opportunity to make money off of it without exerting any effort. So considering all this, LOF has done very well despite the neglect by 10c.
