Dude! I came for the trope, too. I even went and read the web novel. Rather than “annoyed”, though…I’m more…miffed? I want the legality of their marriage. I want breaking up to be a whole process where they’d need to get the government involved. However, by getting their parents involved, mixing finances and living properly together… they’ve given me a sense of security.

I don’t get why people are saying Jane is denying his feelings. I think (up to now) he’s being the model. He’s KNOWN since even before Ryan knew. However, the uni students are just on an internship, it’s not as if they’re on probation to be hired. They’re leaving the company soon. He COULD be thinking that he just needs to wait it out until he’s no longer Ryan’s superior…provided Ryan doesn’t push him

It was arranged in front of the male lead. She also got an excuse and was about to leave until the male lead showed up. There was zero intention to cheat. Not even the male lead sees it as cheating, why would you?

It’s on television. This is why you use older actors (who have reached the age of majority) to play characters of a younger age.

They’ve given him motivation. As a novel reader, this change is okay. Just like movies and dramas are expected to be different, novels and dramas are expected to be different. It’s like an interpretation, rather than a translation. It’s called an adaptation.
For me, I disliked that they weren’t properly married from the beginning, but that hasn’t changed their attitudes nor fears. Let’s complain afterwards. We’re only halfway through.
