You misunderstand. I can comprehend the intent just fine and can deduce the issues to come. The angsty era will be the "overcome internal and external struggles" bit that I'd mentioned. You say it's "not entirely fictional" but I was under the impression that this IS a fictional piece. Are you suggesting this is based on someone the author knew? Is it semi-biographical?!
I even saw complaint on how this story isn’t real because it doesn’t show gays being treated badly or bullied…
