Yeah he’s an idol debuted in 2012 and was active for 10 years before really getting into acting since Alchemy of Souls. So staying in a single career for that long where every move always gets scrutinized, not to mention eyes will always be on them, he’s bound to forget how to act more naturally.
Idols who dive into acting earlier in their career should be better at finding the balance though, take SF9’s Rowoon and the ZEA members for example.
On another note, I think the male lead has a really awkward walking mode. It just looks awkward and so far, the…
That’s a problem with long-time idols. All their career, when there’s a camera, they should walk like they’re on a runway, straight back and with model strides. So when they have to *act* walking normally in front of a camera, they’re confused on how to do it. I observed the same problem with SEVENTEEN’s Jun on his new drama
I'm not going to judge this too harshly yet as I haven't seen all the episodes, but pretty sure I've seen this…
more like chinese teen fic writers are copying one another or simply going with the trends… most of the youth cdramas we see are adapted from different online novels and they all have almost identical plot lines
he is a kpop idol thats why, i think this his first drama
this isn’t his first acting work. he’s acted before and received acting awards when he was a child. but putting a career on hold for over a decade does’t mean you can come back to it with the same skills you once had especially when you had them when you were a child
Is the quality comparable to that of "When I Fly Towards You"?
Nooo. I would say the quality is similar to online dramas that only get up to 10 minutes per episode (slightly better) except that the episodes here go up to 30 minutes. And it obviously got better funding.
Finished it all… ngl, this drama is not really a good introduction to cdramas for people who are watching cdramas for the first time. There are a lot of better, deeper, more interesting cdramas out there with so much better acting and story line. I would hate it so much if the international impression to cdramas would be that they’re all like this
One factor could be that he was dubbed by someone else so his dialogues seem even more unnatural. But he truly needs to improve his eye and facial acting. That scene with his dad at the breakfast table around ep 8(??) was so weird. I understand what he was supposed to be thinking and feeling because I understood the story but it’s hard to find all that in the scene itself because of the acting
If you think all chinese dramas are this generous in terms of kiss scenes and “bed” scenes. You’re wrong. Censorship would not have let this be broadcasted without having editors cut a lot of scenes. This only got through because it’s purely an online drama, no national tv broadcasting stations picked it up. This might have been the reason why airing got so delayed.
Wifty actually started filming before eft but filming was halted because the location was put on lockdown. And then they continued filming wifty in 2022, that time eft already finished filming
well at least there seems to be love between the meng couple. if the couple are happy with each other why can’t they let their children be happy also … these selfish mfs
