The redeeming quality of this drama is for sure the actors, they have a lot of chemistry! Hopefully they’ll be able to get a more mature future project together.
i even thought it was romance genre... so is there any romance fr?
It is not a romance based drama, but it does have a little bit of it. There are two beautiful love stories being told throughout the drama - one of them actually between two women :) However, what drives this story is the characters and their past/present struggles, the romance theme is sort of a secondary theme.
to be completely honest. I honestly think that's what should've happened in that drama
That’s quite depressing :/ . Im not saying it is wrong though, not at all. It’s just a different perspective from mine. IMO finding someone you can rely on for a lifetime, that brings you moments of happiness and fullness, that supports you and loves you, is one of life’s greatest joys. Being denied that happiness forever, and knowing that your misery is your own doing. Regretting what you did for a lifetime. Never finding peace and content in anything again. That is punishment. I can only imagine that dying is peaceful, you don’t need to struggle or be in pain anymore. Agree to disagree ;) With that being said, all of it was very unfair for her. She did not deserve to die or suffer the way she did. They could have gone with a lot of different endings, however I’m satisfied with the one they chose for the drama and the novel’s as well.
If you are very very sad you can read the novel’s original ending (for me it definitely helped!). It’s a happy…
Ninja Reflection has translated several chapters that she has chosen/thought were interesting and is still uploading new chapters every Monday. It is also being fully translated on https://www.webnovel.com/book/rising-phoenix_11057243105250605 (224 chapters/entries have been translated and new chapters are being frequently uploaded).
I watched 70 episodes over 4 days just to see a heart wrenching ending. I guess I'm just stupid!
If you are very very sad you can read the novel’s original ending (for me it definitely helped!). It’s a happy ending! In the end Ning Yi chose Zhi Wei over the throne. They both faked their deaths and lived happily together outside the palace. I’m not sure why they preferred to go with a sad ending in the drama. If you’re interested, you can read it online, it has been translated by a talented blogger. I’ll leave the url here: https://ninja-reflection.com/2018/09/24/rise-phoenixes-novel-ending/
There's tons more of these, not every jdrama has the "anime-like" acting, those are in *some* of those shoujo…
Oh, thank you. I definitely didn’t mean it that way. English is not my first language, nor do I live in an English speaking country, so I didn’t know it was a slur. I have already corrected it.
I also tried to change it but they didn’t allow it... Perhaps because they feel as if the original photo isn’t…
It makes no sense because he has significantly changed, even though the current picture might not be older than 4 years. During that time he changed from a teenager to a man and many people physically change a lot during those years. Quite a few people are mentioning this in the comments, it’s not just one person’s opinion... oh well... we tried! ❤️
I like her, and I really enjoyed Legend of Yunxi. So much so that I ended up reading the novel. However, I feel like she is being typecasted as the cheerful and mischievous cute girl and it’s a bad thing, because we can’t appreciate her versatility as an actress. Also would love it if she did more mature roles and scenes. She is going to be 27 this year, I hope they don’t keep giving her child-like roles until she turns 30...
