I loved her in the first 30 episodes, but they just had to ruin her character….

Forgive her on ep 29. She travels to another city in hopes of starting a new life and forget their painful love but he goes after her :)

From the trailers for the episodes that are airing this week you can see that he will find out everything but also, after giving it some thought, understand that while lying to him and manipulating him, she also protected him and saved his life a few times (he still has the button that fell from her jacket when she shot someone to save him). So he’ll forgive her in a few episodes :P

For me the meaning of life isn’t to survive, to persist, to keep being strong and moving on. There are things more valuable to me than surviving and the lives of some people may be more valuable to me than my own. I would rather die than live a life full of misery and regret. Everyone values things differently. Our values differ not only because of the way we are programmed (as in our genetics) but also the way we were raised and our experiences throughout our lives. I, for one, do not agree with your mothers words on this matter. With all due respect I will agree to disagree. You don’t always have to be right or wrong, or have to have the last word. This conversation is quite silly to have on a drama forum and I don’t think we will see eye to eye on this subject. I’m out. Have a good one. 😉

For some people, sacrificing your life for a bigger purpose is the biggest honor. Xiao Feng thought she was sacrificing her life not to teach Li Cheng Yi a lesson, but to protect both of the countries she grew to cherish. And her death truly brought peace to the lands.
To sacrifice your life for what you love or live a life in regret. What is right or wrong? That is really up to our own subjective views, so we should just respect each other’s opinions and agree to disagree.
Again, your personal beliefs are your own, what you think is stupid may not be for others. In the end we won’t agree because our core values, experiences and principles are different. That is fine. There is no right or wrong here.

I took a look at your list and think you might like to try The Legends, Love and Redemption, The Journey of Flower, Legend of Fuyao and maybe Listening Snow Tower 😉 The Rise of Phoenixes is also one of my favorites but it doesn’t focus mostly on the romance (although it is a crucial part of the story).

Honestly, they are like a 7-7.5/10. If you have nothing better to watch you can give it a try, but they’re not amazing. The Pearl eclipse was an exception: it was very well produced and has a pretty good cast, however it was not my cup of tea —it’s very melodramatic and just sad, and the ML might make you wanna slap him a few times out of frustration. I don’t mind a bit of angst (my fav dramas are TMOPB, Love and Destiny, TROP and Goodbye my princess) but in this one it felt like every other episode the ML or SML did something disappointing and heartbreaking to their respective other halves and you could only watch them all suffering. It's still a good drama if you don’t mind that. The other Novoland entries are lighter hearted in comparison but had humbler budgets, I liked Novoland: Castle in the sky 2 quite a bit better and you don’t really have to watch the first to understand the story. The reason why I’m waiting for the new one to come out is the cast (love Peng Xiao Ran 😍). But with that being said, just from the synopses you can tell it’s going to be another melodramatic tragedy.

I’m also looking out for Song of the Moon, Legend of An Le, Novoland: Princess from Plateau, My sassy Princess and Chun Gui Meng Li Ren 🥰 the last one is more Historical romance, but I added it just in case ;)

Darn it! I was looking forward to this one… I’ve just watched the first 4 episodes and I have to agree with you on pretty much everything. The first part of the story feels so rushed (like they just wanted to get it over with) and the acting is sort of bland… Even the personalities of each of the characters is somewhat cliché and boring. Also, no chemistry between the leads as of yet…. I was also not the biggest fan of ALP but it was okay, at least it had some great acting, richer characters, and also better editing and storywritting. It’s soon to be absolutely sure we won’t like it, but for now I have very little hope for this drama :,( Thankfully a few more fantasy romance dramas are scheduled to come out this year. Let’s cross our fingers that they will be better than this one!

The drama has a total of 43 episodes, do they really need to concentrate so many things in 5 episodes? :/
How do you feel about the acting? I am not a big fan of either of the lead actors so I was wondering if I should even give this a try, but I just love the romance fantasy genre (and last year barely any xianxia and xuahuan romance dramas came out)…

It’s a typical love story between the rich son of the family and the new maid. It’s cliché but cute, if you are into that sort of narrative.
