Unpopular opinion: this drama is OVERHYPED. Personally, I prefer both Love and Redemption & Ashes of Love to this.
Hmmm... Indeed I disagree :P Of course it’s also my personal opinion. I like this one so much better than Ashes of Love but it’s not even that much about the story itself or the actors but Because I didn’t like the female lead in ashes of love (her personality felt so unrealistic and at the same time so cliche in Chinese dramas...) I couldn’t even watch the whole thing... :/ also, loved everything about Eternal Love, it’s my fav drama. but haven’t watched Love and redemption! I’ve been saving it! Hope to watch it soon :)
What the hell is wrong with the rating system?? All ratings are way lower than they were! I’m pretty sure this dama was a 9 not too long ago. Did they change the algorithm??
Knowing some history made me love her decision in the end....her not being empress gives her the freedom to still…
I’ll definitely give it a try! Sounds like my kind of story! And I know the actors are even together in real life, so the chemistry must be off the charts! :P Thanx again for recommending it ❤️

Aww Thank you for your recommendation! ❤️ I’ve thought about watching that drama for a while now! Another one would be Legend of Lu Zhen (with the same female lead actress as Ming Lan, but quite a bit older) and Queen Dugu (which I didn’t really like). Fortunately there are tons of historical fantasy dramas without the harem drama though :p
There are lots of "Eternal love". I'm confused with what I have to watch.
The other Eternal love (Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms) and it’s parallel storyline Eternal Love of dream are much, much superior in every regard (acting, story, production value, OST) my opinion :p

I can understand what you’re saying. Although she will never truly be free in the palace, choosing not to be the empress will let her be freer. Sadly, however, when he dies, she will most likely be ostracized by everyone else if they don’t have any children together. One thing I will admit: he was always very respectful towards her and never wanted her to bow to anyone, not even himself. That was what I found the most admirable in him. However, this sort of story just isn’t for everyone. It’s definitely not for me and a lot of other women. Even though he knew how upset and heartbroken she felt, and after watching her leave more than once because of this, he kept getting new wives (even if not by his own initiative), sleeping and having children with them. Although it’s understandable, he choose his ambition, duty and responsibilities over her. Yes, it is realistic. But not everyone is looking for realism when they watch a drama. I felt upset that in the end she was the one who had to compromise because she missed him and loved him so much. Again, I find it demeaning as a woman. I feel that the extent of his love for her is debatable, because it will depend on ones understanding and definition of love. But I respect your opinion and agree that at least he was always very caring with her, always preferred her over any of his other women (even though he doubted the heroine one time because he believed she was just jealous of one of his other wives), and was quite lonely and pitiful without her. It’s still a lot better than many other harem period dramas in this regard. Again, I feel that this is just not a drama for people who can’t stand harems. And for me it was very upsetting and heartbreaking to watch, as a woman. But I understand some people will like it, it’s just differing opinions and susceptibilities. :)
The story of my first love was quite similar to this one, so it really hurt to watch this. The ending is realistic and fits the story. As of now, I think you can watch it on dramanice with subs.
If you only watched until episode 35, that isn’t the actual ending! There’s an extra episode with a happy ending! You can watch it here without subs: https://duboku.cc/离人心上/special2.html
Was a good story had nice flow. Then everything fell a part and became very, very emotional for everyone concerned.…
The ending isn’t sad! There is a special episode after episode 35 with a happy ending! You can watch it here but it doesn’t have subtitles https://duboku.cc/离人心上/special2.html
I really want to watch this but I really get upset at sad and open endings... Can anyone tell me if they would still recommend this? I don’t mind spoilers!
can you do the acting like her? are you as beautiful as her? you don't have the right to hate her, if you don't…
Sometimes we just don’t like the air a person exsudes, or maybe you don’t like her acting... As long as people don’t actively hate on others (like writing mean things), I don’t think it’s wrong to Just not really like someone as an actor/actress. I actually think she’s pretty good, especially being so young! I really enjoyed her Acting in the drama “My girl”, she’s super cute :)
