Really good drama with fleshed out characters and an engrossing story. Brilliantly cast, every actor does a great job creating a real and relatable character.
As for the romance, I didn’t really feel like the FL liked the ML the way he liked her. It made their scenes slightly off because it felt pretty one-sided.
Netflix are so nonchalant about how they release content, in any form not just Kdrama’s. They announce the date a month before, drop a teaser and then shrug and are like “well this is here if you wanna watch it,” and then it falls into obscurity unless a miracle happens like squid game.
I hope the drama is good and attracts a wide audience.
Nobody asked but i started reading it a few days ago (luckily my grandma already had the book) and its even more…
I think Go Jun will play the male detective right? At least based on age I would think so. In the book he is mid to late fourties’ from what I remember. Then again maybe he’ll play Claudius or Lauterbach from the novel. He does play shady characters well.
I read this book and was intrigued to see there will be a Korean adaptation. I can definitely picture it; the…
If you’re wondering if the novel has the romance the answer is kinda; spoilers below.
The main female detective is in a relationship but it’s mostly in the background and has nothing to do with the main case.
The male detective is having marriage problems when he finds out his wife is cheating on him, and later in the novel sleeps with his superior.
I have no clue if these will be adapted into the drama. This is book #4 in the overall series so they might ignore the detectives backstory since the drama will focus more on the ML.
The ML in the novel has a short relationship with one character who turns out to be a bit a villain. In the end it’s implied he can see a future with the neighbour girl who takes an interest in him and is protective of him. She’s like 18 in the book so it’s weird and kinda gross. In the drama she’ll be older I think. I believe Kim Bo Ra will be playing the neighbour girl.
Hmm I don’t think Go Kyung Pyo has the charisma or charm to be the ml from the dramas I’ve seen him in. Especially in rom coms. I thought he was woefully miscast in that drama where he plays a delivery man.
Oh well, he can’t be any worse than Song Kang in Forecasting Love and Weather.
It was good then the last two episodes were on crack. The change in tone and pacing was jarring. I’m glad there’s a season 2 because this needed some closure. I enjoyed it a lot till the last 2 episodes were they rushed everything.
Rushed ending aside, it was an enjoyable if somewhat uneven drama. The romcom elements were fun, while the thriller part was kinda lame. Leads had good chemistry so it was enjoyable even when it was ridiculous. Solid 8/10.
It’s a miserable drama but so good lol. I loved how gloomy and brooding it was. The ending was rushed but still a good drama. I like these kind of slow burn dramas.
I can’t think of a drama this good with a beginning so bad. Really didn’t like the first 3 episodes but it just got better and better and became one of my favourite Kdrama’s.
Just watched all 10 episodes. I really like the methodical pacing. It’s a slow burn, but it’s intriguing and suspenseful. I really like the atmosphere of the drama; it’s moody and gloomy and I’m really enjoying it.
Ji Sung is great playing two different roles. There are some annoying characters but that’s par for the course in these kinds of dramas. I’m looking forward to the remaining episodes.
Well I finished it but I can’t say I liked it or will remember it fondly. I liked the first 4ish episodes but it gets contrived and awful as it goes on.
The FL actress has picked some of the most frustrating dramas I’ve seen though it’s not necessarily her fault- maybe she’s just unlucky.
Time was a mess because of the lead actor’s real-life problems influencing the drama.
Private Lives is one of the worst written dramas I’ve seen.
It’s a bit too over the top for my liking. I found that most of the dramatic moments didn’t land the way the director would have wanted to because the tone of the drama is so wacky. Nothing wrong with slapstick comedy but it could’ve been better handled. The romance is also poorly done and awkward.
who is the male lead of the show ????? it is choi daniel rghtt
I would say Choi Daniel is the main lead of the drama but not necessarily the main romantic interest. The drama is unique in that way. There will probably be romance but it won’t be between the fl and ml. It will be with the other dude, the one who is closer in age.
How angsty is this compared to Chocolate? Chocolate was super doom and gloom for 3/4 of the drama and I really liked it. It was sad but engrossing. I’m hoping this is like that too.
This really didn’t need 18 episodes. The character development for the fl was slow, the romance is awkward and the pacing uneven. ML is funny and charismatic but none of the emotional beats land. A pretty subpar drama.

This one was just plain awful.
ML was pretty funny though, I’ll give him that.
