Tor, Mix and Teng are saving the series, Toey barely appears.
Please tell me what series you're watching because I'm obviously not watching the same series. Big deal so he can shed some tears, anyone with a bottle of visine can do that. If his line delivery was any slower you'd swear the tape was running in reverse and he's shown two emotions, stone and crying stone
I have a feeling this is going to be one of those series that's a marathon and not a sprint in the way it lays out the story, so it's hard to have a good grasp of what it's going to be like just from the first episode. I can say that the first episode didn't hook me like "180 Degrees Longitude Passes through Us" did, but then again it's not fair to compare them either because nothing could hold that standard.
It'll be interesting to see where this goes and how the characters develop.
For nine weeks now I've been saying Tor, Mix, and Toey have been what's saving this series and making it watchable despite the terrible writing of the plot. If the name of the series and all the talk about Newton's third law is to be taken with more than a grain of salt, we already know what's going to happen in the end, and this is also the part where the writing has started to improve as well.
It'll be interesting to see how they finish it out with the last three episodes.
Because 99.9% of the time a rotting corpse would have more energy, emotion, etc. on camera than Ohm does, either…
Nope, didn't read it wrong, was respectfully disagreeing with you.
At the very least he chose the project, it's not like this is one he was contractually obligated to do like it might have been the case with the Ohm X Fluke working partner series. It gets to a point where you can no longer blame it on just being type cast, etc. and it comes down to the choices of the actor. Either the casting director or Ohm is banking on his looks and not his on screen acting ability.
I definitely agree with you, Guide and Ohm are a very opposites attract pairing. I'm not sure they'll make a good working couple either, but at least he's finally getting paired with someone else, so hopefully that means they'll keep trying in the future and find someone he is suitable working with if it ends up not being Guide.
Because 99.9% of the time a rotting corpse would have more energy, emotion, etc. on camera than Ohm does, either…
Yeah Guide definitely has his work cut out for him, but I've seen actors in the past that have issues with on screen performance finally get paired with the right person and it really brings them out of their shell and improves them. I'm hoping that can finally be the case with Ohm, even if Guide isn't necessarily the one in this series that does it.
Because 99.9% of the time a rotting corpse would have more energy, emotion, etc. on camera than Ohm does, either…
Everything I wrote was on how he comes across on camera, none of it was directed towards him as a person. As I said, some people have trouble emoting, etc. on camera, that's not putting him down, it's just how it is. I also said it could also just be that he's being type cast in those roles.
There was nothing offensive about my post, simply an objective look at the roles and performances he's had to date.
I've even said in previous comments that I'd love to know what he's like in real life because then that'd give us a better understanding of why he comes across as he does in character / on screen.
Just because you don't agree with someone's point of view doesn't make it offensive.
Surprised to see so many positive comments 😮 The first episode was boring to me and the only good thing was…
Because 99.9% of the time a rotting corpse would have more energy, emotion, etc. on camera than Ohm does, either because of being type cast, because he just can't show energy/emotion on camera, or just just a straight up bad actor. It's fine when it's a minor support character and when the character calls for it, but with Ohm it's every series, every character he plays. He gives very little / nothing for his working partner to work with and if you can't play well of of each other no pairing is going to work in the end.
So far Guide is balancing him out well in that regard, but it definitely remains to be seen if they can manage any type of chemistry beyond a seemingly forced bromance.
--------
Some actors just have a lot of trouble emoting, etc. on camera (Dunk from GMMTV is another good example) and they either need a lot more focused acting lessons that they rarely get to overcome it, or they're just better suited for support roles. That doesn't necessarily mean they're a bad actor, just they either need more work developing or need to be used in a way that fits their talent.
How are they even making money let alone pay the new helper with this Bakery which only serves 20 tokens per day??
3.80 baht per egg x 6 eggs = 0.65 USD
6.66 baht per 340 grams almond flour = 0.19 USD (66.6 Baht per pound of almonds, 1 pound makes 5 cups of almond flour and a cake takes .7 pounds of almond flour)
58 baht for the 10 ounces of butter = 1.65 USD
5.5 baht for sugar (round to 6 Baht to account of powdered sugar topping) = .017 USD
5.2 Baht for the ounces of dark chocolate (4603 baht for 2.2 kg of the one they showed in the episode) = 0.15 USD
-------------
Total:
153.62 Baht cost to make (4.38 USD)
7,000 Baht total selling price of 20 slices at 350 Baht per slice (199.45 USD)
That was calculated using an actual Torte Caprese recipe and current prices of the ingredient costs in Thailand listed online.
So yeah they're making a killing every day just off that one cake and that doesn't even count all of the other desserts, drinks, etc. they sell at the shop.
I will propose that Ohm acts in a mafia bl as a mafia leader because of his dry and introverted personality. I…
I'm not even sure if he could pull that off, as even that requires a high level of emotionally charged delivery that he has never shown he's capable of. Even in the few times he's played a character that was supposed to be really pissed off, etc. he still sounded like a computer reading lines.
I'd love to know what his personality is like in real life, maybe he's just one of those people that can't be expressive on camera.
This actually wasn't a bad first episode and I'll be honest, considering the cast (Mostly Ohm) and production company I had zero expectations of this being good.
Every series Ohm plays the same character type, has the same feels like he's 3/4 asleep just reading his lines until someone spikes his coffee and there's almost the appearance of life in a few seconds of a scene. I've always thought Fluke was too naturally soft spoken, etc. to be a good fit as Ohm's working partner no matter how hard Fluke tried, he just couldn't pull out enough to give them a good balance. In this episode Guide actually managed to balance out Ohm rather well without coming off as being obnoxiously overacting which some actors tend to do when working with someone like Ohm.
Grandma giving Peach a good shift verbal kick in the ass several times really gave the episode some pep it needed, but that also can't end up being the saving grace of every episode either. Not a bad start, but probably a good thing it's a shorter series with only 6 episodes.
It would have been better if they had either filmed an extra couple of scenes or used a couple of bloopers to pad out the flashback scenes a little more so they weren't so repetitive, but considering these are low budget, quick shot mini-series it's understandable.
The one thing that actually bothered me more was that Camp didn't get one last "My little Pun" tease in during the ghost scene.
If the approximatly 15 of us masochists who stuck around till the end got t-shirts, I would be ready to throw…
Whelp....there's been a few series that started off really rough that ended up really good in later episodes..... yup, this didn't end up being on of them. lol
that's why I save "Across The Sky" for the last series to watch of the day, that way I always have something I know is going to be amazing to wash away the filth of the bad shows that day. lol

Hey I told you many weeks ago I wanted to drop this shitshow like a bad 70's trip but NOOOOO you said we had to stick it out together....
oh wait, I'm the dumbass that said we had to stick it out....ooopppssss. lol
I'm just going to blame it on the couple of hot shirtless guys causing the blood to rush to the other head and not being able to think clearly on that decision. lol
HOLY SHIT GO KIM!!!!! Finally someone puts Prae in her place!!!
Of course I've spent the past ten episodes saying I didn't want Prae or Chalarm to have a redemption arc and then they go and not only do them both in the same episode, but also so perfectly that I loved every second of it. DAMN YOU WRITERS OF THIS SERIES FOR BEING SO GOOD!!! lol
Poor Tonkla really can't go a single episode without either stepping in it or almost getting murdered....or both. lol Poom has really been saying all series long "Me, the comedic sidekick.....okay, here's a masterclass on how"
Whelp.....just when we thought the script writing couldn't possibly get any worse, episode 11 said hold my beer, or bong water or whatever in the fuck they were drinking / smoking when they wrote this shit.
Yet another episode saved (as much as it could ever be) by Hiro's acting, another episode of adults saying the dumbest shit, another episode of unicorns shitting all over the place and magically everything is alright, another episode of misplaced freaking Christmas music, and another episode of Xion proving why he needs to be a talent management / producer only and let someone with actual talent, etc. be the director.
If we really did get "I SURVIVED "MY STORY"!!" T-shirts they'd definitely have to be signed for the cast so their hard work in trying to do something with this shit show material is remembered when they finally get to a different company that actually knows how to use their talent and gives them proper quality material to work with.
2 more episodes and we're finally done my fellow warriors, stay strong!! lol
