That was a very strange episode. Everything Pond was great, except I don't understand why he put on a basketball…
Luckily "La Cuisine" hasn't been infected with the slow pace pandemic that's been going around lately. At least with that series when they do have a pause of reflection, shyness, etc. it's short and much more realistic.
The past couple of episodes have been like a mirror universe to each other. Episode 10 showed us the amazing potential this series could have had if Saint X Mon were the endgame and So was the side character. Then episode 11 comes along and sucks all the personality, emotion, etc. out of it again to give us thousand year long stares and silence and we're back to Mon X So who finally showed a little spark of personality, but still zero chemistry together. You don't wait until the second to last episode to make clear who the main couple is going to be, have a storyline where they have to part, and expect the audience to have any sort of emotional connection to the characters.
Offroad (Saint), Poon (Pond), Cooper (Micky), and Pide (Q) definitely deserve a new series of their own as they've definitely carried this one. I'd love to see Cooper X Pide paired up together again and Offroad be the lead with a new partner or even with Poon. So much wasted talent, so much wasted screen time with this series, and so much wasted potential.
This series would have been decent if they hadn't had both Mon and So be so damned slow and both be so freaking introverted. Other series have had two main character be like that before, but have done it sooooo much better.
This is one of those series that definitely isn't going to be winning any awards for doing anything innovative, etc. and you know what, that's perfectly fine because what it does do, it does so damned well.
Khluen is one of those people that are so emotionally introverted, yet Joong/Chen does such an amazing job of portraying every single thought and emotion Khluen is internally going through just with his eyes if you really pay attention.
Nuea has been so hurt ever since that initial confession that he hasn't seen all the signs this whole time. I'm so glad he finally got the nerve to clarify things, but damn it why did it have to be with so few episodes left. Yeah the chase is great and all, but damn it the "we're together finally" now part can be just as amazing to watch, but these BL series very rarely go there, or when they do, it's straight to some breakup or "end of the world" situation.
Hope so. But in the future; it would be too fast right now.
With only two episodes left it wouldn't matter if they ended it with Mon X Soh or Saint X Mon, it's still going to feel rushed with so much to resolve. The only difference is that Saint and Mon have known each other for so much longer and back when they were in high school before all the drama it seemed like Mon had feelings for Saint. Saint and Mon have repaired their friendship already so now that saint has confessed and Mon has said he should get over Soh, it wouldn't be that much of a stretch for them to decide to give it a chance. Soh on the other hand is leaving in less than a month, they haven't known each other nearly as long, and Soh has lied to Mon about his feelings enough times that there's no way two episodes are enough time to repair that.
I just finally finished watching episode 10 because I was waiting to make sure the eng subs were completely and properly fixed.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Soh needs to be the one that opened Mon up to the idea of loving someone, but Saint needs to be the one he ultimately falls in love with.
Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome probably. One of the intersex conditions.Or Klinefelter syndrome. Another intersex…
I'm still guessing it's Partial Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome (PAIS), but then again there's so many variations to Klinefelter Syndrome.
Either way I'm glad they're doing something different from all of the other series. I can't wait to see what they do with the whole reveal to Le thing. It already seems like he has feelings for Amber so it should be good.
This series is one twisted rollercoaster ride that never ends. We finally get the big reveal and then there's another twist at the end that completely leaves you with another "WTF?!?!" moment.
And now I'm really wishing I didn't go down the google rabbit hole trying to figure out what chromosomal disorder they might have been taking about.
Okay someone needs to tough love verbally smack some sense into Luk'Chub...your friend hears them says next time they should throw acid in your face, but you don't want to file a report with the police because you don't want to make a big deal about it?!?! Fukwhat!?
I love that Ram read the situation right and decided to tell LukChub's grandmother that they are dating even though he said he'd wait until he was ready. They needed to know the truth about the situation and there was no way to do that without telling them the cause for it all. Now they know how serious he is about him and that he'll do everything he can to protect him.
Namning and the gang better turn themselves in before Alice finds out, otherwise dealing with the police will be the least of their worries. lol
Could be a "Everyone around me just wants to use me for my good luck and leave me" and I'm so lonely / I know He wants to use me to cancel his bad luck, but to do that he always has to be with me and I won't be lonely anymore. type thing. I hadn't thought of that angle before.
I originally thought that as well, but then I watched episode 2 and there was just something about the way he brushed off everything about their date going wrong and him saying tomorrow he'll meet him at his place. I could be reading too much into it, but it just seems like he already knows about his bad luck curse.
Something tells me we're going to find out they are both using each other for the same reason, but in the end they'll both develop genuine feelings for each other. Being so unlucky would definitely feel like a curse, but on the flip side of that so would being so lucky that there's no unpredictability, etc. in life either.
Hopefully this is finally the last of the LineTV shit shows left to air. First episode and it already screams being for "The Rotten Ones" that care for nothing but their cutesy moments and anything of substance or quality be damned.
The one thing it does have going for it is that finally Copter gets a love interest-ish thing going with a different guy for however long. Star Hunter continues to waste his talent in these typecast roles just like they did with Gen Y.
That's ompossible - that would mean Amber can only be 10 years old. Definitely trans.
Someone else did suggest that maybe WenWen died and Amber got her heart.
That would explain not wanting Le to see him shirtless if he's struggling with how to tell them. It's been documented that some transplant recipients do take on traits, habits, etc. of the donor despite never knowing anything about the donor. So if it is a heart transplant type thing that could explain the whole DNA says love you.
I think if he were a twin then they would have known about him before. Taiwan never had the whole one child policy thing, but I guess it's possible it could be one of those "dress a boy like a girl to prevent him from being kidnapped" things.
We all seem to be going back and forth trying to figure out if Amber is Trans or a reincarnation of WenWen, what if it's both? What if WenWen was Trans but died and was reincarnated as Amber "in the right body"? Amber's shyness of Le seeing him shirtless could just be a hold over from when Amber was WenWen and being in a female body and being taught to be modest. I know the implication of the scene in ep 8 made it seems like Amber might have been hiding scars from transitioning, but this series also loves to throw in twists just to keep us guessing.
