I disagree I don't think Song's father is homophobic they are barely fixing their relationship and Song hasn't…
Sorry for taking so long to reply, I just woke up.
Okay so here's the thing with Anik and the whole Nut/Tofu relationship thing. He's completely oblivious to anything other than that Tofu looks like Nueng. When Nut was staying at Song's house for those few hours, Anik never knew what the whole thing was about, he even said in ep 9 that it was a shame he didn't get a chance to talk to Tofu. It's very likely he still doesn't know anything about Nut and Tofu's relationship other than Tofu is helping take care of Na and that Nut and Tofu had some sort of fight.
Anik didn't even know what genre the series was, let alone that Song was playing a gay character until that scene in ep. 9.
... "Of course not, it's just acting." "You're not really gay... Are you?"
There's a few different ways they could go with that and we won't really know until Song comes out to him, if he does.
1) He's not fine with it at all, but is putting on a public face because of being an officer.
2) He's tolerant of gay people, as long as it's not "my son, my daughter, etc." type of thing. This is still being homophobic. Some people would consider it on the lower end of the scale (especially people who aren't LGBTQ), but it can still have just as violent and abusive reactions just like full blown homophobia.
3) Like I mentioned before, it could just be a matter of him being ignorant of the wording and not realizing how negative it is.
So right now with not knowing exactly how it'll play out, it does come off as being to some degree homophobic.
I disagree I don't think Song's father is homophobic they are barely fixing their relationship and Song hasn't…
I obviously don't know if you're LGBTQ or not so if you are I apologize in advance for the way this is worded.
When you're LGBTQ and someone words it the way Song's father did, that's typically a very clear sign of them being homophobic. Wordage means everything and him saying "...you're not gay are you?" was definitely enough of an indicator for Song to stop in his tracks. Now that doesn't necessarily mean that he is, it could have been poor word choice on his part or it'll be a he needs to stop and process it for a minute and then realize it doesn't matter if he's gay or not.
I'm 41 so I've had people word it like that to me before not realizing how negative it sounds that way so it very well could be the same here.
This series certainly doesn't need anymore twists, but wouldn't it be something if Neung was gay but hiding it from his father and that's why he ignored Nut and had a girlfriend instead. Two loves both impossible to be with because of outside circumstances... that could be why Tofu looks like Neung but speaks like Tharn.
Everyone is in love with In (Tofu) and Tee (Song), but Job (Nut) really does deserve so much credit for his talent of giving us a character we really flip/flop between hating and loving.
Once again Teddy Bear logic and philosophy rules the day...with a side of verbal Teddy Bear ass whooping served up for dessert, a very frozen dessert at that as well. I don't think even the world's strongest flamethrower will ever thaw Jan out after that.
Sib being a homophobic asshole didn't surprise me in the least bit, but Song's father being homophobic did...I guess 1 out of 3 not being homophobic is still progress.
The great furniture mystery....I'm not even sure what to make of this right now, but I'm starting to think it has something more to do with Na than it does Nut.
Every episode I'm still in awe of how this series manages to take the absolutely absurd of talking furniture and a teddy bear turning into a human and seamlessly blends it with characters with very real problems and very real character flaws. Every aspect of this series had to be just right for it to work and to their credit it really does.
I'm loving that Very many are joining the Saint Mon ship. Saint has actually been my motivation to watch every…
Saint actually pushes Mon to confront what he's feeling, supports him, and pushes him to be better...
Soh just stares off into space like the lights are on but nobody's home and occasionally says something with the personality of a soggy noodle...never mind that's an insult to soggy noodles.
I'm not sure if you're already started watching this or not. It's the same director as Gen Y, but it's a professional…
If you've been watching "Cutie Pie" it's the same professional writing team that's doing this series as well. Not only are they a professional writing firm but also have acting coaches, etc. so any series they're associated with tends to be of higher quality.
I'm pretty sure the PTSD from Gen Y is going to be a life long affliction. lol
I will say that La Cuisine does have some "longer" shots, but they aren't as nearly as much or as dragged out and fit the current state of the characters well. If someone is shy, hesitant to say something, reply to an answer, or deep in thought in real life the dialogue pauses are much more realistic in length like that in this series. It's definitely not a Gen Y or Bite Me situation. lol
I see it’s from the same director as Gen y. Can somebody tell me if it has a similar style and pacing as Gen…
I'm not sure if you're already started watching this or not.
It's the same director as Gen Y, but it's a professional writing team that did the script. There's a large main/support cast, but it's much more well balanced and controlled than the mess that Gen Y was.
Two episodes in and somehow Star Hunter Entertainment has made me cautiously optimistic with this series.
So far all of the characters are well written and cast and it's directed and edited well. If they keep up this level of quality throughout then it'll turn out to be a great show. There isn't really anything different here with the mix of Food Porn and a seemingly double dose of hate to love relationships, but the characters and cast are enough to drive it. So far they've kept the trope BS to a relative minimum, but then again it is only two episodes in, hopefully it stays like that since the Thai BL (and BL as a whole) industry seems to not be able to move on from such things yet.
Bank X Bonus have managed to carry over their insane level of chemistry together so fans of them won't be disappointed. Peter and Boss are already showing glimpses of them have a good natural chemistry together as well, even if storyline wise it's still in that awkward hate but the shell is starting to crack phase still.
i don't think he's dating Gia though. more like a girl best friend.
Now that would be a twist. I'm trying to remember if any of the bls I've watched have done a prolonged "She's just my friend, not my girlfriend" misunderstanding twist like that before, but can't think of any.
Dunk and Joong are just so natural acting together right from the start despite never having acted together before.
One thing I really love about this series is that Khluen has known how Nuea feels about him since high school, yet there's no uneasy feeling between them over it.
My guess with Khluen is that he had some level of feelings for Nuea back in high school but it was a two fold "why start something that can't continue" and that he had been with Gia for so long that he felt stuck/obligated to stay with her, especially since Nuea was leaving for Germany. If that's the way they end up going with it, when Khluen finally confronts Gia about his feelings I really hope they didn't go the whole chic goes psycho route and instead went with something more along the lines of knowing his//their feelings have changed. Lately the series that I've really been enjoying are the ones going for the more realistic slice of life style over the overly dramatic every little thing has to be a world ending event type.
i barely just noticed this is from gmmtv… they are very insane for not airing this on their official youtube…
It was originally supposed to be on LineTV, but then that ceased operations and I think it just became a matter of it slipping through the cracks or them thinking it wouldn't do well enough with inter fans. Hopefully it'll still end up on their youtube eventually because it deserves more exposure and the actors certainly deserve it as well.
But did Tarn/Nut know that they're cousin? Anyway, in my community marriage between cousins are acceptable, which…
Now that's a very good question, other than the money aspect they really haven't dug too much into Satjaree's side of the family so it's very possible they didn't know.
I'm a little taken aback by the comments section, which means twitter is 10 times worse.Nut is a complicated and…
Unless you're the child of a single parent with mental illness it's near impossible for people to understand how infuriating it can be at times and things are going to reach a boiling point at times, especially when the parent refuses to take their meds/treatments.
That's not at all to in any way excuse his behavior, hell Nut definitely should have been seeing a counselor himself, but it can easily become too much for someone to handle at times, especially when the child ends up being more like the parent than the parent.
Tofu X Song and Nut X Gen...those are the ones that truly deserve each other.
I've seen a few other commenters saying that they think they're dragging out parts of the storyline and I'm starting to agree. We're at the half way mark and still just barely inching forward with the storyline on what Tofu is.
Soooo Tarn and Nut kissed...Granted it's through marriage, but they're cousins. Forget the whole two guys kissing thing, cousins kissing would definitely be something the school would inform the parents about. My guess is the "nightmare" Nut's mother was talking about is Sib finding out that Nut and Tarn kissed. That whole "He's a man so he has to join the military" thing Sib said screams homophobic Nut ass whipping, which raises another question. They've never mentioned (at least not in the eng subtitles) how Sib died, possible suicide either from shame in the way he reacted to finding out Nut is gay or the shame of having a gay son?
Tawan never stood a chance against Mork and his smile, but then again no one could.
This is definitely the series that GMMTV should have promoted the hell out of and premiered each week on their youtube channel for inter fans rather than Enchante.
Fluke and Fame were amazeballs together and hopefully we'll be seeing a lot more of them in the future.
It's a little disappointing, especially after "Not me" set the bar very high for this kind of "darker" series.…
Ahh ok, I'm not familiar with the source material so I wasn't too sure if this was more of an adaptation choice to ty to make it a bit lighter or if it's just a calm before the storm thing.
It's a little disappointing, especially after "Not me" set the bar very high for this kind of "darker" series.…
Yeah but with "Not Me" their actions had gravity to them, they were fighting against corrupt business men (including Todd) and a corrupt justice system. It was overall a darker toned, more realistic portrayal with some comedy and cuteness thrown in. It balanced the life for today for tomorrow we may die much better than KinnPorsche has so far.
Right now KinnPorsche feels very much like a dramedy / mockery, like they're all playing a game of pretend mafia. It doesn't feel yet like the characters are real, which hopefully will develop more once it gets out of this cutesy comedic relief phase and gets to the grittier part of the storyline.
or the punishment was the massive case of blue balls poor LukChub had all day. lol
Edit: it just posted on dramacool

2nd ep: This is too ridiculous to work, but somehow it does
3rd ep: Damn it why do the eps have to be weekly and not daily??!!
